The 2021 Alpina XB7 is a true one of its kind vehicle that is available at an MSRP of $141,300 and there are no additional trims available. It is powered by an Alpina tuned 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 that is mated to an 8-speed automatic and the AWD drivetrain as standard. For the money it asks, the Alpina XB7 offers a whole new world of comfort, opulence, and technological advancement as it offers countless features ranging from 4-zone climate control, Merino leather upholstery, 9 leather upholstery colors, 11 different wooden inlays, 12.3" touchscreen iDrive infotainment, and 16-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.

The 2021 Alpina XB7 also comes with a long list of standard exterior features, which includes 23" optional alloy wheels and 21" standard Alpina Dynamic alloy wheels. The standard alloy wheels can be painted in many different shades and come wrapped in 285/45R21 performance tires. All the other exterior features like the panoramic sunroof, heated and powered side mirrors, automatic LED headlights with LED DRLs, powered liftgate, and 9 exterior colors are offered too. The safety and driver-assistance features like lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, etc are standard for the 2021 Alpina XB7.

The 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 is a feature-packed and ultra-luxury full-size SUV that is offered in a single trim configuration for a base MSRP of $141,300. While the interior trims and paint job are your own choices, we would recommend you to add the Rear-Seat Entertainment system for an extra $2,200 as that will allow you to extend the courtesy of personal entertainment to the rear passengers. BMW doesn't currently build a full M version of its large X7 SUV, but the Alpina-tuned XB7 comes reasonably close to offering that level of performance. - Edmunds

The 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 is powered by an ALPINA-tuned 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine which produces 612 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain comes hooked up to an 8-speed ZF sourced torque converter automatic transmission that can put the power down through the xDrive AWD drivetrain. Available for a base MSRP of $141,300, it can also give out a maximum towing capacity of 5,950 lbs, making it one of the best of the segment for towing and hauling.

Coming with the automatic air suspension system with airbags on all four corners, the 2021 Alpina XB7 turned out to be excellent in the ride quality front. It manages to absorb all the bumps and potholes with ease, making it an excellent highway cruiser as well as an urban commuter. However, the 2021 Alpina XB7 wasn't the most fun to drive offering of the segment, mainly due to the high body roll and vague steering setup. As a result, the car doesn't inspire confidence while taking corners at higher speeds.

The 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 managed to do the 0-60 mph in an impressive 3.6 seconds. The car could also hit the quarter-mile marker in 12.1 seconds and can do a top speed of 180 MPH when going flat out. With 15.5" front brake rotors and 15.7" rear brake rotors, the 2021 Alpina XB7 gave out excellent braking performance too. However, the 60-0 mph braking distance hasn't been measured yet. In comparison, the 2021 BMW X7 did the 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds and the quarter-mile in 14.4 seconds.

The 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 turned out to be the most powerful offering of the segment, which is followed by the 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan with 563 hp. The 2021 Maybach GLS 600 and the 2021 Bentayga V8 managed to give out a slightly lower 550 hp and 542 hp, respectively. When it comes to the acceleration front, both the 2021 Bentayga and the 2021 Alpina XB7 gave out the best in class 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds. The 2021 Maybach GLS 600 did the 0-60 mph in a higher 4.1 seconds and the 2021 Cullinan did the same in 4.5 seconds.

Buying the 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 is a dream for many, however, its MPG figures are far below the stature of any other Bimmer for that matter. Available for a base selling price of $141,300, the 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 managed to give out a city gas mileage of 15 MPG and a highway gas mileage of 21 MPG, both of which helps the car to give out a combined gas mileage of 17 MPG.

The 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 also comes with a 21.9-gallon fuel tank capacity, which helps the car to give out a city range of 328.5 miles, a highway range of 459.9 miles, and a combined range of 372.3 miles. If you want better gas mileage, we would recommend you to get the regular 2021 BMW X7, which is available for a base MSRP of $74,900, as it manages to give out a combined gas mileage of 21 MPG.

The 2021 Bentley Bentayga V8 gave out the best in class gas mileage of 18 MPG combined, which is followed by the 2021 Alpina XB7. The 2021 Maybach GLS 600 and the 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan turned out to be slightly mediocre in comparison to the 2021 XB7, as both of them gave a lower combined gas mileage of 16 MPG and 14 MPG, respectively.

The 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 is one of the most opulent and spacious offerings of the full-size SUV segment that is sold in the United States. This SUV comes with the all the bells and whistles like leather upholstery, 4-zone automatic climate control system, heated and powered seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, and many more as standard, all of which adds to the comfort of the passengers. Available with 9 interior colors and 11 wooden inlays, the interior is also very premium. It is well designed too, with spot-on ergonomics. When it comes to the interior space on offer, the 2021 Alpina XB7 doesn't disappoint either.

The front row of the 2021 Alpina XB7 turned out to be the most spacious of the lot, due to the impressive headroom and shoulder room on offer. The leather upholstery and the excellent under-thigh support and side bolstering provided by the seats make it a comfortable place to be. The second-row seats are also quite phenomenal, even though the legroom of 37.6" to be lower than all the rivals. The 2021 Alpina XB7 is also the only 6-seater SUV of the segment, and hence it offers a third-row too, which has usable space for 2 adults. However, the cargo capacity of 12.8 cu ft was the lowest of the lot.

The 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 would be our pick of the lot if you have a big family, as it is the only offering with a third row. Even the front and second row of the XB7 is also very spacious. However, the 2021 Maybach GLS turned out to be the most spacious in the segment. Both the 2021 Cullinan and the 2021 Bentayga gave out a slightly lower interior space. The cargo space was the best for the Cullinan, which is followed by the Maybach GLS 600 and the Bentayga. When it comes to entertainment, the 2021 XB7 comes with the 12.3" touchscreen iDrive infotainment and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

This iDrive touchscreen infotainment system turned out to be very intuitive to use, mainly due to the excellent icon layout, touch sensitivity, and a long list of useful features on offer. You can also control the system with the rotary controller that is present in the center console, making it easier for the driver to use while behind the wheel. Many connectivity features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, AUX, USB, etc are standard too. The audio experience showcased by the 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system turned out to be the best of the lot, with punchy bass and clear vocals. Alpina fits the XB7 with standard 21-inch wheels and all-season tires, but our example wore gigantic, narrow-spoke 23-inchers - Thecarconnection

If all you get is a glance at the 2021 BMW Alpina XB7, you would probably pass it off as the BMW X7 since the XB7 is based on the X7. However, when you look closely you will start to notice the subtle difference that begins with the front fascia. You get a chrome sill across the bigger and more pronounced front kidney grilles along with blue laser light LED headlights as standard fitment. Along with that, there are subtle additions of chrome elements and the Alpina badging at the bottom to make the difference clear. The car can also come in 9 exterior colors, chrome wrapped grille, and all of this contributes to the road presence.

Move to the side view, and you will notice the neatly integrated roof rails along with the giant 23" alloy wheels that steal the show. The tires have been changed from all-season to Pirelli Summer Performance tires so that the car can stick to the road like glue. The subtle fender flares, heated and powered side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, and a decent length of 203.3" also adds to the character and presence of this SUV. The rear view of the 2021 Alpina XB7 is highlighted by the quad exhaust system, shark fin antenna, integrated rear spoiler, and the LED taillights. 

Compared to its rivals, the 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 looks the bulkiest of the lot. While the Bentayga is essentially a mid-size crossover, it is almost as long as the Alpina XB7 and is marginally wider as well at 79.1". Even the 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan and the 2021 Maybach GLS 600 turned out to taller, wider, and longer than the 2021 XB7. The 2021 Bentayga also turned out to be the lightest offering for the segment, which was 500 lbs lighter than the 2021 Alpina XB7. Mercedes has always remained at the forefront of luxury and opulence and with the Maybach GLS, Mercedes has managed to take it to a whole new level. The 2021 Maybach GLS 600 offered more space, better cargo capacity, and turned out to be more fun to drive than the 2021 Alpina XB7. However, the 2021 Alpina XB7 offered seating for 6-passengers, had a superior ride quality, and a more powerful and refined motor under the hood that also gave out the best in class acceleration figures.

With the 2021 BMW Alpina XB7, which is available in a single trim configuration for a base MSRP of $141,300, BMW has managed to come out with one of the best luxury full-size SUVs of the segment. The car offers excellent interior space, a comfortable and opulent cabin that can accommodate 6-passengers, and a long list of standard interior and safety features. The performance and ride quality were also superb for the price and segment.
