“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is how the saying goes. However, Aston Martins are not just subjectively beautiful, they are objectively beautiful. No one would turn their eyes away from an Aston.
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is how the saying goes. However, Aston Martins are not just subjectively beautiful, they are objectively beautiful. No one would turn their eyes away from an Aston. The DB11 might not be the quickest and the most exciting car to drive, but a certain aura of exquisiteness and grandiose surrounds it, which renders it inevitably attractive.
The base variant comes with a V8 that is priced at an astounding price tag of $208,425. Along with the boost in power, it only comes in RWD and there is no AWD available, to preserve the raw purist driving experience. The other engine is the monstrous V12, which is priced at $248,725; which is no longer designated the AMR badge. However, it does add a few interesting things extra. Of course, being the face of Aston Martin, the DB11 is loaded with tons of features. But the most important feature cannot be jotted down in a spec sheet. The elegance, class, and beauty, all of that can only be described when you look at it.

When it comes to packages and options, you can go with the Comfort Pack Coupe Interior Pack for $2,800 that adds powered seat bolster adjustment, GT heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats. The Technology Interior Pack for $3,900 adds Park Assist, Aston Martin premium audio, touchpad, and blind-spot monitoring. The Technology Plus Interior Pack for a whopping $9,100 adds Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio with everything that comes with the Technology interior Pack.
Which trim should you buy?
Well, if you do have the means to purchase a DB11, we would recommend that you go with the V8 since the V12 does not add a whole lot of extra performance. The Technology Plus Interior pack for $9,100 shouldn’t put a dent in your wallet. Why shouldn’t you experience a Bang & Olufsen sound system in your ultra-luxury car? Also, Park Assist and blind-spot monitoring are very helpful addition. The touchpad for the infotainment system is also a very handy addition.
The 2022 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe is powered by a beast of an engine. The 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 is capable of throwing out 528 ponies and 513 lb-ft of torque. The monstrous 5.2L twin-turbo V12 is capable of pumping out 630 horses and 516 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, it might not necessarily be the fastest car in the world; but it certainly will let you feel the heat. The V8 is extremely well-tuned and responsive. The throttle response is almost instantaneous and the transmission does an excellent of shifting gears. Passing around everyone in traffic is a breeze and the sound the engine produces is pretty melodic to the ear. The V12 adds more character and more power than the V8. Even though the V12 sounds more melodious, it doesn’t offer a ton of extra performance headroom.
The V8 engine can do 0-60 MPH in a little less than 4 seconds. It can reach the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds and the top speed has been increased to 192 MPH now. The V12 does 0-60 MPH in around 3.7 seconds; so, there is no perceivable difference in real life. This car blurs the line between a GT and a true sports car. A great blend of both, we might add. The Aston might be a highly expensive and respected car, but it does not handle like a Porsche or a Ferrari. However, recent improvements have certainly improved its standards.
The steering is precise and sharp and also offers pretty good feedback. Throwing it around corners is also easier than ever before. The weight of the car can be felt, however, if you push it around too much. The V8 is lighter and the weight does not hold you down from driving it like a sports car. The V12, on the other hand, adds more weight and takes a little away from the driving characteristic. The V12 is more like a GT than a sports car. The ride quality is excellent. The adaptive dampers in the car make traveling long distances easy and over harsh roads too, it can hold its own.

These stalwarts are all extremely powerful and they have torque for days. The German coupe takes the win for the maximum power coming from its flat-6. The Aston Martin is the most underpowered here while the Porsche is the quickest. However, the Bentley and the DB11 are equal in terms of performance. The entry-level Ferrari is the quickest of all except the mighty Porsche.
The V8 has been tinkered with and it now delivers more power. But the EPA estimates for the new fuel economy figures for the tuned engine have not been released yet. However, we can take a look at the figures of the 2021 model year and it should reflect what we should expect. The EPA estimates for the 2021 V8 is 18/24/20 MPG for city/highway/combined driving. The V12 is the thirstier one with 15/22/18 MPG for the same. While it is not an efficient engine, the figures are not too bad, considering the power. The gas tank size is 20.5 gallons. It means that the V8 will get an estimated range of 369/492/410 miles for city/highway/combined driving. The V12, on the other hand, will get 307/451/369 miles for the same cycle.

The DB11 and the Continental GT get similar fuel economy figures. However, the Porsche lags behind the lot. Also, the 911 gets the worst overall range. The Continental GT’s large gas tank allows it to offer the best range and the DB11 does well too.
An Aston Martin will always be luxurious and will always be home to the rich. A plush and polished interior is what you are greeted with when you open the door to the DB11. Not the most upscale interior for a car that there could be, but it still impresses. There are a lot of design themes and options to choose from. You can either choose monotone, duotone, or Q spit-color environments and the choices of materials are also excellent. Leather upholstery is standard and the Aston Martin wings logo is embossed onto the seats. The seatbelts also have a color palette to choose from. An electrically opening and closing center console lid makes the experience more convenient and more authentic. The biggest advantage is the huge level of customization available to the user.
A sport leather steering wheel is also present along with a full Alcantara headlining. The seats have celestial perforation and nexus quilting. They are the Aston Martin Sport Plus seats which offer heavy bolstering. The front seats are heated and 12-way electrically adjustable with power lumbar support and seat memory. Yes, the seats are extremely comfortable and offer acres of space in the front. Even though there are rear seats, they are best reserved as extra storage. The 2022 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe sports a tiny cargo capacity of 9.5 cubic feet and this is quite typical of a coupe. However, even within that tiny space, you can fit your luggage and go on a trip. However, interior storage solutions are not too bright.

Most high-end brands do not disclose interior specs and that's the case here as well. However, we do know that the front rows are extremely spacious while the rear rows are extremely cramped in all of the cars here. However, the rear seats in Continental GT are somewhat usable. The cargo capacity is the maximum on the Continental GT as well.
Key interior features include:
The Aston Martins have never truly stood out for their infotainment system. It makes use of an old Mercedes infotainment system which includes an 8” LCD screen. It is not a touchscreen and can be controlled via rotary controls or via an optional touchpad, which we recommend that you do get. The system is intuitive and the screen is bright and crisp. But it still lacks a touch of modernity.
The standard features include Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, navigation, USB ports, Wi-Fi hotspot, iPod/iPhone integration, etc. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available. An Aston Martin 9-speaker sound system comes as standard, but a 1000W Bang & Olufsen sound system is also available for the taking.
Key highlights of the infotainment setup:
The single greatest thing about Aston Martins is their appearance. Astons are some of the most elegant and the most gorgeous cars ever made. If there was a prize for crafting the most unique and attractive cars, Aston would be at the top. That’s the only reason all of their flaws are suppressed and their elegance takes over.
The DB11 features a long hood with strong muscular lines flowing to the front. The LED headlights are uniquely shaped and they appear very classy and beautiful. The grille is wide and hangs low, as usual. The side profile also looks extremely pleasing to the eye with its floating roof and gently sloping roofline. The front sills are wide and add to the stylish character of the DB11. The design is not futuristic and not too outlandish. Instead, it is a great blend of beauty and class. The V12 version gets carbon hood blades and carbon side skirts.
At the rear, the sleek taillights bend upwards and form a gorgeous shape with the Aston Martin logo at the center. The dual exhaust setup finishes off the look. Power folding exterior mirrors are standard. Moreover, the V8 rides on 20” wheels, while the V12 rides on 20” forged wheels.

The Continental GT is the one with the largest body, while the Aston comes in second. The Porsche is the most compact car, as is usually the case. The Roma is slightly larger than the Porsche, but not by a huge margin.
Key exterior features include:
Of course, you cannot expect a car as exquisite and expensive as the DB11 to go through with crash testing. Even though there is no quantifiable number that could rate the DB11’s safety, we do know that it comes with a nice suite of safety and driver assistance features. There are also other optional features that you can add, and we recommend that you do since they would make the driving experience a lot more convenient. The DB11 comes with 15.8-inch front rotors and 14.2-inch rear rotors. The brakes are very efficient and they also perform very well. Pedal feel is linear and is easy to modulate. The brakes are confidence-inspiring. It comes to a complete halt from 60 MPH in just 105 feet. The car just weighs in at 3,880 lbs.
Key safety features:
The Aston is a great blend of a sports car and a GT. However, the Continental says “GT” in its name itself. The Bentley offers similar power figures and is also a great performer. It is more luxurious from the inside, even though the Aston may look more appealing from the outside. In the end, if you want a GT, then the Bentley is the better pick of the two.
The Turbo S is the epitome of Porsche's engineering and German prowess. It is extremely quick, and one of the most exciting and best-handling cars in the segment. A true sports car down to its every atom. It is not as classy as the Aston, but the performance on offer is mind-boggling whilst not sacrificing comfort. So, if you desire the best of all aspects, then the 911 is the one to go for.
The entry-level Ferrari is very fast and exciting too. It features a V8, a step down from the traditional Ferrari V12. However, the car is plenty fast and handles as a Ferrari should. The interior is also extremely driver-focused. However, it is not without its flaws and we think that it can’t compete with the DB11 in terms of “GT-ness”. But as a sports car? That’s where it shines.
If you are eyeing a DB11, then you already know what you want. The 2022 Aston Martin DB11 Coupe is extremely gorgeous and elegant. It is one of the most gorgeous cars in the entire industry. It offers a luxurious and premium interior. It also comes with excellent performance. A great blend of GT and sports car, it is best for those who want the best of both worlds. However, only a privileged few can experience it.
