Overall Rating
The Aston Martin Vantage belongs in a price range crowded with capable, luxurious, and exotic sports cars. The Vantage still manages to have a space for itself as it gets you the best of both worlds.
The Aston Martin Vantage belongs in a price range crowded with capable, luxurious, and exotic sports cars. The Vantage still manages to have a space for itself as it gets you the best of both worlds. It’s got the power and driving dynamics to go against any of the sports coupes in the segment while it is also extremely customizable and the extreme exterior beauty of the car is sure to turn heads and bring attention towards you. For 2022 the new Vantage which was originally introduced in 2019 carries over with no major changes.
The Vantage base Coupe itself is a great choice, but if you ask if the higher-end, more expensive F1 Edition is worth the higher price despite being marginally more powerful, the answer would be a ‘yes’. The base Vantage would be ideal for street and occasional track use, but to make use of the true potential of the Vantage you could go for the F1 Edition as it is much sharper and stable around corners.

The 2022 Aston Martin Vantage is available in two trim options. The base Vantage is the Vantage Coupe and then there is the newly introduced, Vantage F1 Edition Coupe situated above it. Both models are powered by the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine under the hood. However, the F1 Edition does put out a higher 528 hp compared to the base variant’s 503 hp whereas the torque remains the same for both models at 505 lb-ft. There are manual and automatic transmission options available with the base coupe while the F1 Edition is purely automatic. There are a plethora of customization options and optional features available to equip in the Vantage and the following are some of the main standard features in each trim of the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage-

We haven’t received any official confirmation regarding the release date of the Vantage Coupe but we expect it to debut by early 2022.
The 2022 Aston Martin Vantage is powered by a Mercedes-sourced, front mid-mounted, all-alloy quad overhead cam, 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine with a 10.5:1 compression ratio, and water-to-air charge cooling. This powertrain puts out 503 hp and 505 lb-ft in the base variant while the F1 Edition puts out 528 hp. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission while the F1 Edition is automatic-only. The Vantage gets an electronically controllable fully catalyzed stainless steel exhaust system that sounds amazing.
The Vantage gets a speed-dependent rack and pinion power-assisted steering that is precise and responsive and is especially enjoyable on the track. The manual transmission does provide a better driving experience while the automatic adds an extra 209 lbs and is less connecting to the driver. The vantage gets adaptive damping and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential as standard features and the Adaptive Damping System (ADS) comes with proprietary Skyhook technology modes including Sport, Sport +, and Track.
The F1 Edition further gets some enhancements including 10% stiffer rear springs, revised adaptive dampers that improve rebound damping, and a tweaked and tightened front suspension that has been adjusted for more negative wheel camber. This makes it an even better track machine and a beast that handles extremely well on the track. The Vantage takes 3.3 seconds to achieve a speed of 0 to 60 mph and crosses the quarter-mile mark in 11.5 which are impressive numbers in the segment. Overall the Vantage is a true sports machine aimed at the track and there is a slight compromise made in terms of ride quality.

The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Coupe which makes a comeback for 2022 smokes all of the rivals in this segment including the Aston Martin and clearly shows what ‘back with a back’ truly means. It is the least expensive machine, and that also by a significant margin makes it an even sweeter deal and the true winner in the performance game. The Mercedes AMG GT C Coupe and the Aston Martin Vantage are very similarly priced and the AMG GT C is slightly faster than the Aston whereas the Audi R8 is the slowest one even though it’s screaming V10 is the most powerful one here.
This is not where we expect the Vantage or any of these coupes to excel. However, the Vantage is one of the most fuel-efficient machines in this segment, delivering these good fuel efficiency numbers while being so enjoyable to drive and having impressive driving dynamics. The 2022 Vantage puts out a fuel economy of 18mpg in the city, 24 on the highway, and 20mpg in the combined road and driving conditions. Along with a higher capacity 19.3-gallon fuel tank, the Vantage Coupe could reach up to 386 miles (combined) without a refill.

The Aston Martin is the most efficient one here followed by the Porsche while the Merc and the Audi are a few figures behind with similar efficiency. The Audi has the highest-capacity fuel tank while the Porsche has the smallest one. However, the Aston still delivers the most combined range while the Audi can travel more on the freeway. The Vantage overall is the winner in the fuel economy department.
The 2022 Aston Martin Vantage Coupe has a highly customizable interior with plenty of materials and elements to choose from. The standard interior comes in a Monotone create ‘environment’ and features sports seats with embossed Aston Martin Wings Logo and 8-Way electric seat adjustment. The seats are covered in Black Smooth Rolled leather and matched to environment stitching. These seats could be further upgraded to 12-way Sports Plus Seats with Embroidered Aston Martin Wings logo. The Vantage gets a color-keyed sports steering wheel as standard while it could also be replaced with more luxurious options made out of twill Gloss Carbon Fibre covered in leather or Black Alcantara or even. The paddle-shift gear could also be replaced with Carbon Fibre ones.
The standard interior trim which Aston Martin calls environment is the Create Environment in a monotone style while this one in a duotone configuration is an available option along with different other environments including Accelerate and Inspire. Aston Martin provides a color leather palette for normal as well as semi-aniline/Q semi-aniline leather options along with contrast stitch options so that you could choose from a wide range of upholstery styles and combinations. The interior of the Vantage is comfortable and spacious for the two occupants it could seat and there is enough cargo space for your luggage. However, the overall quality of the standard interior without any added options and customizations is not as expected from a car at this price point. Also, the noise isolation of the Vantage is not the best and there is a great amount of road noise that creeps into the cabin.

Hands down the Porsche has the nicest interior and as its base price is much lower than the others, even with some extra features and options, the Porsche would still be cheaper than them while being much more luxurious. The Porsche is also the only-seater here, although the rear seats are unusable. The Vantage delivers the most cargo capacity while the Porsche with the added row has the least. Overall, the Vantage has a much less desirable interior compared to the competitors. The following are its main interior features-
The 2022 Vantage gets an outdated 8.0-inch LCD screen controlled via a rotary knob. It is base on a last-gen Mercedes infotainment unit and is frustrating to use. You could opt for a touchpad controller for the screen but that wouldn’t make it much better. The audio system, however, is impressive but still then the Android Auto, as well as Apple CarPlay, is a serious drawback. Overall the Vantage has an outdated infotainment unit that badly needs an upgrade. The following are the main infotainment features inside the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage-
The Vantage is one of the best-looking machines in the segment. It has a simple yet, very beautiful design language and there are also a lot of customization options on offer with the Vantage. The standard exterior features a Titanium Silver Mesh front grille and silver under bonnet cross brace along with a black hood. The Vantage gets a solid exterior paint color as standard along with Graphite lower body and body-colored upper packages. The wheels are 20" 10 spoke cast wheels in a silver shade as standard wrapped around with Pirelli P Zero tires.
The exterior of the Vantage is extremely customizable with plenty of optional Paint Palettes available including Metallic, Premium Metallic, Racing Line, Q Satin, Q Special, Q Heritage, and Q Out of Range palettes. There are also plenty of upper and lower body packages available in various different styles as well as in carbon fiber. The roof is painted in body color as standard while the optional roof finishes include Gloss Black and Twill Carbon Fibre while the hood could opt-in Blue, Red, Black, or Silver. The available wheel options include two other 20-inch options and larger 21-inch wheels.

The Aston is the best-looking one and it has a glorious covering of grace around it. However, all of these machines are very much beautiful and they all possess a distinct and specific exterior styling and look. The Porsche is the lightest one here while the Merc is the heaviest and longest. The Porsche and the Vantage offer the most ground clearance while the Vantage also boasts the longest wheelbase. The following are the main exterior features of the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage-
The 2022 Aston Martin Vantage comes with a comprehensive set of safety and driver assistance features bundles. Being a supercar, it has not been crash-tested by any of the agencies, but the safety features in it make sure that the Vantage is a safe car. The Vantage might lack infotainment features but it is very much updated on the safety front. The following are the main safety and driver assistance features that come incorporated in the 2022 Aston Martin Vantage-
The Audi R8 Coupe is a superb option and it offers a better package in terms of performance, but lacks the customization options and the overall beauty of the Aston. The R8 comes with a better-sounding V10 under the hood while the Vantage is still faster and delivers better fuel economy. Overall, the Audi offers maximum bang for the buck while the Aston is a more exotic product.
The AMG GT C Coupe is the closest contender to the Vantage, both in terms of price as well as exterior beauty, and also is neck to neck against the Aston while comparing the performance figures. The Mercedes offers a better quality interior and a little bit more isolated cabin. The Aston however offers a much better fuel economy and is marginally faster. Overall, it would be a subjective choice and both these machines are impressive.
The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Coupe returns for 2022 shaking up the segment and toppling every competitor including the Vantage. The Porsche is the fastest, most luxurious car in the segment while also delivering impressive fuel efficiency figures. The Porsche is the overall better choice as it also offers a plethora of customization options like the Aston while being much less expensive than it.
The Aston Martin Vantage comes with no major changes except for the newly added F1 Edition which is an impressive option that makes the already capable Vantage even better on track and around corners. The Vantage, however, is not as updated as some of the prominent rivals and the interior, although very much customizable, is not premium enough to justify the price tag. The Vantage is a high-performance supercar with impressive fuel economy but it suffers from being outdated. Overall some among the competitors, especially the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is a much better option available at a much lower price making the Vantage seem old and outdated.
