If you are searching for the perfect combination of a proper muscle car and also a large family Sedan.
The 2017 Dodge Charger is tailored to those who want to stand out in a crowd of four-door family sedans. The base model of the 2017 charger, the SE with RWD, will cost you around $27,995. It comes with a pleasant 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 292 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. RWD is standard on all the trims but the option for an AWD system is limited to the SE and SXT trims.
If you are looking for more power, the R/T trim of the Charger is equipped similarly to the SXT but has a V8 engine. The 2017 Dodge Charger gets the latest version of FCA's UConnect multimedia system, which now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An active exhaust system is now standard on all Chargers equipped with the optional 5.7-liter V-8 engine.
The SE and SXT trim of the 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan draw their power from the 3.6-liter V6 engine while the R/T and Daytona trims get a 5.7-liter V8 engine. As for the R/T Scat and Daytona 392 trims, you get a 6.4-liter V8 engine while the Hellcat has a 6.2-liter v8 engine under its hood.
Rear-wheel drive and the 8-speed automatic transmission are common for all the trims; although with the SE and SXT trim, you can opt for an all-wheel drive system as well.

What we recommend
The SXT trim of the 2017 Charger offers more standard features and is our recommendation. The V6 is more efficient than the performance-oriented V8. The ride is also gentle and the additional features on the SXT include 8-inch wheels, LED fog lamps, heated mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming mirror, an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat.
The Dodge Charger with the V6 engine is marked at 19 mpg in the cities, 30 mpg in the highways and 23 mpg combined. The optional AWD system brings down the ratings to 18 mpg in the cities, 27 mpg in the highways and 21 mpg combined. Choosing the V8 further degrades the fuel efficiency to 16, 25 and 19 mpg. The Charger Hellcat with its 6.2-liter V8 gives 13, 22 and 16 mpg in cities, highways and combined respectively.

The Toyota Avalon has the highest fuel economy ratings in the group, with 21 mpg in the city, 30 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined. The 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan and the Toyota both get 30 mpg on the highway, while the Kia Cadenza and Buick LaCrosse get 23 mpg combined. Although the Dodge outperforms the Kia and Buick on highways, it falls short of the Avalon.
A clean dashboard design gives the interior of the 2017 Dodge Charger a considerably wider appeal. Although the inside quality is adequate for the Charger's asking price, there are some big areas of plastic and black rubbery trim that may be off-putting. Some retro-inspired details, like as the T-handle shifter for the automatic transmission, add to the overall aesthetic.
In terms of front passenger headroom and legroom, the Kia Cadenza outperforms the competition. While the Buick LaCrosse has a problem with headroom, the 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan lacks legroom. In terms of rear passengers, the Buick leads with plenty of headroom, while the 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan compensates with plenty of legroom while having the least amount of headroom.

The rear seats fold down to offer more room for cargo. There are also plenty of storage options inside the cabin and features 4 cup holders in total. It is to be noted that the AWD option available on the SE and SXT models of the 2017 Charger compromises the space.
"The Dodge Charger is racier than ever, but its basic shape definitely harks back to the '60s." - The Car Connection
The 2017 Dodge Charger appears to be exactly what it claims to be: a contemporary American sedan with lots of power. It has a smooth, rounded front that helps with aerodynamics, and the beautiful rear incorporates Dodge's signature "racetrack" taillight configuration.
The 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan is the heaviest, longest, broadest, and tallest sedan when compared aganist the competition. The Charger also has the longest wheelbase and track width. The proportions of the Kia Cadenza are quite well matched. The Buick has the shortest height which is similar for the Toyota Avalon as well. The Avalon is one of the most compact sedans in the segment.

Some of the main exterior features of the 2017 Dodge Charger are:
The 2017 Charger received a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA. It also received 5 stars in side and rollover crash tests, as well as four stars in the frontal crash test. In four crash tests, the IIHS granted the Charger the highest possible grade of Good.
The 2017 Charger comes without any driver assistance systems as standard. There are, nevertheless, several modern safety systems available.
For quite some time, the Kia Cadenza has defined luxury Sedans as a beautiful blend of large interiors crafted with the highest quality materials and amenities like heated seats. It has only one engine option, a 3.3-liter V6 mated to an 8-speed automated transmission that sends power to the front wheels. In comparison with the 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan, Kia has a slightly less powerful engine and a much slower acceleration. The Kia offers a more premium and spacious interior while the Dodge offers slightly better cargo space.
With its V6 engine and adaptive suspension, the Buick Lacrosse offers a floaty ride and is loaded with technology, including an infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrations. When compared to the 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan, the Buick has a stronger engine performance, but it lags behind substantially in terms of acceleration. Despite having equal fuel economy, the brakes don't have anything like the stopping ability of the Dodge. The interior seating space and cargo space are also adequate.
The classic elegance and calm riding experience are embodied by the affordable Toyota Avalon. The basic V6 engine glides beautifully, and the handling is surprisingly nimble for a vehicle of its size. Toyota includes standard safety technologies like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking to make it even more appealing. When comparing the Avalon to the 2017 Dodge Charger Sedan, we can see that it lags far behind in engine performance and acceleration, and its brakes are far from remarkable. It does, however, have superior fuel economy ratings and a reasonable interior and luggage capacity.'
The 2017 Dodge Charger offers plenty of options to fit across a wide variety of preferences. The base trims offer plenty of power for city driving while still making it feel like a big muscle car. The V6 motor in the base trims and the 8-speed automatic transmission offers a pleasant ride while the higher trims offer more performance at the cost of comfort. The Charger offers plenty of space and considerable standard features. 4
