Honda Civic 0-60, Top Speed And Quarter Mile Times

Unlike the predictions, the 2024 Honda Civic carries forward with no changes to its powertrain. The 2024 Honda Civic 0-60 is achieved in the same 9.5 seconds as last year. As standard, the 2024 Civic gets a 1.5-liter turbo-4 motor under its hood which produces 180 hp and 177 lb-ft and can cross the quarter mile in a rather slow 17.4-second time. The top speed is also limited to a conservative 112 MPH for all trims. While the Civic has become a more mature product over the years, the performance figures have been pretty similar. 

The same powertrain is also on offer under the hood of Civic hatchback and the 2024 Honda Civic Sport Touring 0-60 is done in just over 9 seconds. Although there have been rumors of the Civic hybrid making its way this year, it has been postponed to 2025 and will get a version of a hybrid powertrain similar to that of the Accord hybrid. The 2024 Civic SI offers superior performance with a higher 200 hp & 192 lb-ft output which helps it do the 0-60 in 6.8 seconds.

The recently launched Civic Type R is the pick of the lot for performance mongers. The 2023 Honda Civic Type R 0-60 takes just 5.3 seconds and the quarter mile is done in 13.9 seconds with a claimed top speed of 169 MPH. While both the major rivals, the Nissan Sentra and the Toyota Corolla offer only a marginally quicker acceleration performance than the Civic 2024, the Hyundai Elantra is about a second and a half quicker to 60 MPH. That said, some media houses like "Car and Driver" have tested the Honda Civic and achieved a 0-60 time of just 7.5 seconds.
