The 2024 Genesis GV60 is here, an entry-level luxury electric SUV that redefines affordability and performance. With a new rear-wheel drive trim, pricing starts at $52,000, offering 225 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 294-mile range on full charge. Despite being a decent EV, the GV60 was not selling well owing to a higher price tag, but now it's a different story altogether.
2024 Genesis GV60 Standard RWD Revealed: Cheaper Price, More Range

Genesis is the luxury division of Hyundai, known to deliver exceptional built quality, distinct interiors, and decent performance. Last year, they debuted their all-electric Genesis GV60 SUV with a single powertrain and a price tag of over $60,000.

However, after a year, the manufacturer addressed the steep price tag, made it more accessible with a new base trim costing $8,550 less than last year’s all-wheel-drive base, and added a significant range bump on top, reducing the range anxiety to some extent.

However, the pricing of the AWD trims has increased by $1,330, but to compensate for the same, the 2024 GV60 rides on 19-inch wheels, and the previously standard 20-inch wheels are now optional. The final result is an increase in the overall range by 16 miles, bringing the total to 264 miles.

After recently selling their 1 millionth car, Genesis is working day and night to keep the sales figure up. Genesis plans to go all-electric by 2025, and the success of the GV60 is very crucial to it. Genesis also announced that 2023 and newer models will get free lifetime access to Genesis Connected Services. For 2024, the manufacturer has expanded the GV60 lineup with a new rear-wheel drive trim, which will act as a standard trim for the lineup.

What about the 2024 Genesis GV60 price?

The 2024 GV60 electric SUV is priced at $53,195, including destination charges. The electric motor produces 225 horsepower, connected to a 77.4 kWh battery that allows this entry-level luxury SUV up to 294 miles of range. Previously, the car started at a base price of $59,290 for the Advance AWD trim, which, according to us, was a weak point as the car shares its platform with the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, which belong to a significantly lower price range.

Price Difference Between 2023 GV60 and 2024 GV60

As mentioned earlier, the AWD trims, namely the 2024 GV60 Advanced AWD and 2024 GV60 Performance AWD, are more expensive than the 2023 model year trims. The Advanced and Performance trims now cost $60,550 and $69,550 for the 2024 model year.

2024 Genesis GV60 Specs and Range

If we consider the performance and range of the previous model year, Genesis only offered the AWD option with the 2023 GV60. The prior cars came with a dual-motor setup, where the Advance AWD made 314 horsepower and the Performance AWD made 429 horsepower. However, the increased power came with a lower range of 248 miles for the Advanced and 235 miles for the latter Performance trim.

The power output for both trims remains the same as the previous model year. However, with the provision of 19-inch wheels as standard, the 2024 GV60 Advanced AWD trim now offers 264 miles of range, while the 2024 GV60 Performance AWD trim continues with 21-inch wheels and offers 235 miles, the same as last year.

2024 Genesis GV60 Standard Features and Safety

The most economical Genesis GV60 Standard does not appear to be a stripped-down model—Genesis has included all the bells and whistles of the GV60's more expensive trims. Even the standard model has 19-inch wheels, a head-up display, and a motorized driver's seat with a leg rest that can be extended, to name a few. Genesis also keeps safety a priority and offers a full suite of driver assistance features across all trims.

Some of the safety features, like blind-spot monitoring, automated emergency braking, rear-cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and 10 airbags with upgraded seat belts, come standard with the car. The NHTSA awarded the GV60 2023 model a five-star safety rating, and the same will hold true for the GV60 2024 model as well. With that said, you also need to keep in mind that the 2024 Genesis GV60 is only available at selected dealerships in 23 states.
