Hyundai is one of the biggest Asian car manufacturers, that sells its products around the world, Recently there are several spy shots leaked of their upcoming SUV that made the car world excited, as Hyundai went the complete other direction in terms of design for their upcoming creation. Recently a video went live on Youtube by a car spotter from Korea, showing the upcoming 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe in all its glory, in a plug-in hybrid avatar.

When it was first seen under disguise, any untrained eye would miscalculate the car as the upcoming 2024 Land Rover Defender, due to its angular boxy shape. However now we can see the uncovered production-ready prototype it looks huge, and the overall silhouette makes it elegant yet muscular demeanor of the SUV. Although the leaked prototype now confirms that there would be a PHEV model, the exact specifications are still in shadows and we have to wait until the official announcement from Hyundai.

The plug-in version shown here is riding on 20-inch 255/45 section tires, and the biggest takeaway of it being a hybrid version is the plug-in badge on its massive tailgate. And the fact that the charging port is located on the right of the driver and the fuel cap is situated on the left. The new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is covered in a glossy black exterior trim also the headlights are darkened giving the car an enchanting look.

The car in the second video looks different from the PHEV, which suggests that it might belong to a different trim level. The most noticeable difference between the two prototypes was the use of silver squares instead of the honeycomb shape on the plug-in variant. They both have the exhaust tip tucked away under the bumper, but in the official images, we can notice an angular tip sticking out of the bumper.

As you can notice in the second video below, the Santa Fe prototype sits on smaller 18-inch wheels with a two-tone black and grey finish to match the current colorway. If you look closely you can see a silver “Santa Fe” trim piece on the front fender whereas the base color of the prototype is finished in black. In the video, the interior is not properly visible, however, Hyundai has already revealed the interiors of the car and it completely differs from the prior 2023 Santa Fe.

This is not the first time that we have seen the new Santa Fe in the wild, and there are few instances that it was spotted before the days after the official launch. However, for the full details, we have to wait until Hyundai reveals the full details about the trims and configurations of the SUV. However, in the previous sightings, we have seen the “2.5T” badge with the “HTRAC” which confirms the 2.5 L turbocharged engine will be available with the Hyundai TRACtion All-wheel Drive system, and the new PHEV variant makes it two variants, that we are now sure of.
