Some new images of the brand new compact SUV, the Dodge Hornet have been leaked on the internet, which makes it look very similar to the Alfa Romeo Tonale. The Dodge Hornet will be a brand new design which has been developed along with Alfa Romeo. In the leaked images, the Hornet looks very similar to the Tonale but with a redesigned headlights and more bigger vents. The image also show the Hornet flashing Dodge badges instead of the Alfa Romeo ones. The all-new Dodge Hornet is expected to be released in the U.S. this year and reach the dealerships in mid 2023.
Being a part of the Stellantis, the Hornet and Tonale have been designed to keep up with the increase in demand of the compact SUVs. In recent years, SUVs have gained popularity more than ever and out of those, the compact SUVs have become more practical. The all-new Dodge Hornet will get the same dimensions as the Alfa Romeo Tonale however, it will receive some minute changes. The Hornet however is also expected to be offered in a sportier R/T spec as well.
The Dodge Horner will be powered by the same 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 cylinder engine as the Alfa Romeo Tonale. The Hornet however will offer different engine choices, with one being a hybrid paired with a 1.3L turbocharged unit and the others as well. However, as compared to the Tonale’s 256 hp, the Hornet will offer 272 hp. The Alfa Romeo Tonale will offer 256 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The acceleration and other performance aspects of the Dodge Hornet will be released in near future.
Details about the Dodge Hornet interiors have not been released yet, however after as compared to the 2023 Tonale, we expect the Hornet to flaunt a similar layout. The Alfa Romeo Tonale flaunts a 12.3” infotainment touchscreen as standard which is expected to be present in the Hornet as well. Also similar to the Tonale, the Hornet will offer a comfortable seating layout for 5 passengers with decent spacing and cargo capacity. The Hornet and Tonale will be based on the same platform but will only feature very subtle differences.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale is expected to be released in the U.S in the year 2022 and will reach the dealerships by early 2023. The Dodge Hornet is also said to follow in the same footsteps however, it will be released after around 4 to 5 months of the Tonale. The leaked images of the Dodge Hornet also show that it will have the same body language as the Tonale and will offer the same powertrain options but with a better power output. The Dodge Hornet is also expected to get a base price of around $40,000.
