The all-new (2023) Jeep Wagoneer was showcased recently at the 2022 New York International Auto Show. The all-new Jeep SUV now comes with a long-wheelbase version named Wagoneer L along with the 2023 Wagoneer L Carbide model. Apart from these new additions both the Wagoneer L under the hood gets a new Hurricane twin-turbo engine. The long-wheelbase version of the 2023 Wagoneer is 12-inches longer and has a 7-inches longer wheelbase compared to it. The result is more cabin space and 15.8 cubic feet of extra and 44.2 cubic feet of total cargo capacity with all three rows up.

As for the exterior, you get a choice of 18-, 20-, or 22-inch alloy wheels, acoustic laminated windshield, LED headlamps and fog lamps, optional power deployable running boards, etc. Moving on to the second change, the all-new Hurricane engine. The 2023 Wagoneer L is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-6 engine making 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque. The new engine provides better performance and gas mileage compared to the existing V8 engine on the Wagoneer model. Thus the improved gas mileage ( one to two miles per gallon combined as per Jeep) also helps the new engine to cut down emissions to a certain extent.

The Hurricane twin-turbo engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and comes either with a rear-wheel driver or an available 4WD system. The new engine being more powerful and efficient than the older V8 doesn’t compromise on performance with and without a full load. Jeep claims that the 2023 Wagoneer L has a maximum tow rating of 10,000 pounds. Apart from the above changes, there are also a handful of mechanical changes done to the chassis.

These changes include a new frame center rail and rear rail extension, a new body-in-white rear floor, new body-in-white, third-row seat brackets and reinforcements, new load floors, and a new body-in-white rear ladder structure, and a new rear tub. These new additions are done to ensure that the extension in length and wheelbase of the SUV doesn’t compromise its structural integrity. Moving on to the Wagoneer L Carbide model it gets blacked-out exterior treatment, tri-pane panoramic sunroof, etc.
