Stellantis recently unveiled its ‘Dare Forward 2030’ strategy that will propel the brand to become a carbon-neutral company by 2038. Stellantis also aims to reduce carbon emissions from every stage of manufacturing by 50 percent by the end of the decade. Stellantis has planned huge investment for electrification and software development in upcoming vehicles. Stellantis has pledged to sell close to 5 million electric vehicles by 2030 when only pure EVs will be sold in Europe while they’ll account for 50 percent of sales in North America.

Stellantis also plans to have 75 battery-electric vehicles by 2030, out of which 25 vehicles will be specifically developed for the United States market. Stellantis will utilize its all-new STLA architecture for electric vehicles. The upcoming all-electric Jeep compact SUV will be based on the STLA platform, using a skateboard design for efficient space management. The STLA platform is divided into four main categories: STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large and STLA Frame.

To compete with the likes of 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Tesla Cybertruck, the RAM 1500 BEV will arrive in 2024. The first all-electric Jeep SUV will arrive in early 2023 while the RAM ProMaster EV will arrive in late 2023. Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis Group has claimed that the upcoming RAM 1500 BEV pickup will outperform its competitors in terms of range, performance, charging time, towing and payload capacities as per brand's internal performance index. RAM will also release a large electric fuel cell van for the U.S. fleets in 2025.

Stellantis has also invested heavily in developing advanced battery technology that improves range and energy density. Stellantis plans to offer batteries with two different chemical compositions. A high-density battery and nickel cobalt-free battery will be offered. The new batteries are expected to be a part of the newly launched vehicles in 2024. The new batteries will help in improving range, performance and reducing chemical hazard to a great extent. Similarly, Stellantis will launch EVs under the Chrysler brand, starting with the much-anticipated compact SUV based on the Chrysler AirFlow Concept BEV in 2025.

Stellantis had announced on Software Day about its partnership with BMW for developing a hands-free Level 3 AutoDrive system and it will be available in some vehicles, starting from 2024. The list of vehicles includes upcoming BMW 7-Series sedan and cars from Alfa Romeo and Maserati brands too. Stellantis also aims to provide Software training to its engineers in a new discipline via its Software Academy and prepare them well for an electrified future. Stellantis surely seems to be on the right track and can shake up the EV segment with well-designed products.
