Engine and Performance:
The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV comes as an all-new model. The 2022 Outlander is powered by a 2.5L naturally aspirated inline-4 engine that cranks out 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox that sends power to either front wheels or all four wheels via Mitusbishi’s S-AWC (Super-All Wheel Control). That said, very soon Mitsubishi will also bring the Outlander PHEV which would benefit from more power and better performance compared to the gas-powered one seen here.

The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels as standard. While all-wheel drive is available as an option on all trims of the Telluride. The Telluride in the FWD guise returns 20 mpg in the city while with the AWD the mileage drops by 1 mpg. Out on the highway, the Telluride FWD returns 26 mpg and the AWD model offers 2 mpg less.

The interior of the 2022 Kia Telluride not only looks upscale and bold but also feels the same in terms of the material used. Even the base trim looks acceptable especially after the 8.0-inch touchscreen was replaced with the 10.3-inch touchscreen as standard this year. As for the features you get inside the cabin there is synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable and heated front seats, auto-dimming inside rearview mirrors, etc. As for the cargo space with all three rows up Kia Telluride offers 21 cubic feet of space.
Pricing and verdict:
The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander price starts at $26,095 and the top trim goes over $37k. While the 2022 Kia Telluride price starts at $32,790 and the top trim of the Telluride crosses the $44k mark. So based on the pricing it should be clear that the Outlander offers you only what you pay for. There is only a four-cylinder engine option and the third-row space and the standard cargo space aren’t its forte. While the Kia for the premium it charges gets a V6 engine and more space in all three rows alongwith almost double the cargo capacity as the Outlander with all seats up.
