Dodge has released a new appearance theme for the Durango R/T, named the HEMI Orange. The HEMI Orange series now expands to the Durango R/T, as it was initially offered on the Challenger and Charger models. This series was introduced just last year on these models. The Orange colored Durango will be available from this summer. The color is inspired by the original orange color of the HEMI engine that powered the muscle cars.
The changes to the Durango in this version are cosmetic for the most part, but there are some additional packages on offer as well. Compared to the regular Durango, the Orange Durango gets unique Orange and Gunmetal hood stripes that contrast the Midnight Gray color along with orange exterior badging on the car. At the rear, the SUV comes with Satin Black taillights and rides on 20-inch Black Noise finish wheels.
The three-row Durango will be sold in the Orange theme in all of the R/T’s exterior colors, Destroyer Gray, Diamond Black, Octane Red, and White Knuckle. The Durango R/T HEMI Orange will be powered by the same 5.7L V8 engine seen on the standard R/T. This engine outputs 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque, and comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV can sprint from 0-60 MPH in 6.2 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 120 MPH.

The engine has a towing capacity of 7,400 lbs and can carry a payload of up to 1,280 lbs. The interior of the Durango Orange gets orange-colored throughout the cabin. The stitching also carries on the instrument panel, door uppers and armrest, console lid, shifter boot, and on the flat-bottom leather steering wheel. The front row and second-row captain chairs also get the similar stitching as the cabin, which is accompanied by the monochromatic Dodge Rhombi seatback logo.
The three-row SUV in this Orange edition also gets two packages: The HEMI Orange Plus Package and the HEMI Orange Tow N Go Package. Both of these packages add a different set of features. The Orange Plus Package adds a power sunroof, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, advanced safety features, and many other features. The Orange Tow N Go Package is specific for the all-wheel-drive Durango R/T models and equips the SUV with advanced towing features, 20-inch Lights Out wheels, and orange Brembo brake calipers, Bilstein high-performance suspension, and other additional features as well.
Dodge has revealed the pricing for the 2022 Dodge Durango R/T HEMI Orange. The Durango R/T RWD starts at a price of $49,795, and the all-wheel-drive model costs $2,000 extra. The HEMI Orange appearance can be added for $1,995 extra. The pricing for the packages has also been revealed. The HEMI Orange Plus costs $4,500, whereas the HEMI Orange Tow N Go package $5,095. A destination fee of $1,595 is additional. However, more build and price details will be revealed closer to the reveal this summer.
