Mitsubishi has been under quite a heat for the design of the new 2022 Outlander that got released early this year. The latest release by the Japanese company teases the 2022 Outlander Plug-In Hybrid. It will be replacing the old PHEV model that has been on the market for quite some time. It was on the shelves co-existing with the 2022 variant of the SUV, Mitsubishi has finally revealed the teaser of the electrified variant.

For now, the car will be released in Japan and will later be pushed in other markets. So expect the new Outlander to land here in the United States in the second half of next year. It might as well bear the 2023 model year. The teaser images released by Mitsubishi show the charging port of the car and badges on the tailgate and front fender. The overall design of the new Outlander is polarizing as it is.
The improvements on the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV will be more power and a larger battery to improve on the range and make-up for the power increase. The model on sale right now has been updated with a 2.4 L petrol engine which takes the place of the 2L engine which will make around 126 hp and 148 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor adds 94 hp more and will cumulatively be making 221 hp for the vehicle.

The last 2021 Outlander PHEV already came with a bumped up battery pack which resulted in an electric-only range of 24 miles. The top speed in the EV mode also bumped to 83 mph which is more than enough for the city. Some of the parts are shared with Nissan Rogue on the PHEV as well. The usual Outlander also does that for that matter.
The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander will be all-in-all a great vehicle for it will have a three-row setup and have the frugalness of the plug-in-hybrid system. All-in-all it will make a good package for a very impressive price range. The range and the power of the SUV are also set to increase. It’s a win-win situation for all.
