The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander’s interior does feature a new design (as it is an all-new model). The concept of the interior design is based on Omotenashi which means next-level Japanese Hospitality, regarded for anticipating guest's needs. On this basis, the 2022 Outlander’s interior features a simple yet clean design while implementing quality and simplicity in use with the materials used on the interior.

The interior of the 2022 Outlander does have seating for 7 people across three rows, and three rows is standard seating. It also features heated front seats from the mid-level SE trim and will add heated middle-row seats with the SEL trim. A heated steering wheel is also included in the SEL models as is tri-zone climate control, for added comfort when needed.

Genuine leather is available on SEL and higher trims are available in black or light gray while being color-matched to the instrument panel and also door trim for what Mitsubishi calls a unified in-cabin experience. There are also semi-aniline leather seats available on the top-trim SEL with Touring package which will also feature Saddle tan accent color and stitching.

In terms of interior technology, the Outlander features an 8-inch standard touchscreen but SE and higher trims feature a 9-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and (wired) Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio (3-month trial) are standard on all trims. The HD radio, wireless charging, rear USB ports are standard on SE and higher trims, with the SEL getting a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display. There is also an available 10.8-inch heads-up display, SEL Touring trim.

The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, is an all-new model featuring a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine making 181 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque with power going front wheels in its standard configuration with AWD available for $1800 more. Prices start at an MSRP of $26,095, before destination charges of $1,245. It will compete with the likes of Kia Sorento, Subaru Forester, Nissan Rogue, and Hyundai Santa Fe.
