The 2014 Porsche Cayman is a compact coupe offered in two trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $52,600. For that price, it mainly competes with the Audi TTS and the BMW M235i. Between 2 trims, the Cayman offers 2 powertrains. The base engine is a 2.7L flat-six engine capable of making 273 horsepower and 213 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, there is also a 325 horsepower-making 3.4L flat-6 engine. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with an optional PDK 7-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission. The Cayman reaches 60 mph from zero in 5.4 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 4.6 seconds with the 3.4L flat-6 engine. Depending on the powertrain, Cayman can manage a combined fuel economy between 23 and 24 mpg.
