It is quite hard to find an exact combination of features for the car since there is an infinite number of options. Release Date

No exact date has been released by Rolls-Royce, but we can assume that the 2022 Ghost's release date isn't too far away. It might therefore be unveiled by the end of 2021.

The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost has a spirited 6.75L twin-turbo V12 that is capable of spitting fire at 563 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. The peak power is delivered at 5,000 RPM and the torque is also available at relatively low RPMs. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and together this duo transfer power to all wheels as standard. 

The engine is massive and is pretty powerful. Even though the Ghost definitely falls under the heavy-weight category, it still is able to hit 60 MPH in just 4.6 seconds. So, if you are late for your business meeting, one instruction to the chauffeur will allow him to floor you to your destination in speed. It can also do the quarter-mile sprint in just 12.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 155 MPH. Not only does it offer luxury, but also performance.

The Ghost, like all other Rolls-Royces, is a joy to drive for any chauffeur. The driving is deemed to be sharp and the car’s steering is precise and responds to inputs pretty well. It has a 50/50 weight distribution in the all-wheel steering wheel. It offers arguably the greatest ride quality in any car that you can buy. Not one single bump, not one single imperfection will be felt by the occupants on the inside. The adaptive suspension works its magic and even uses a road-scanning camera that anticipates and compensates for bumps on the road. Inside the Ghost, it would feel as if you were floating over the road.

The first thing you will notice looking at this table is the pricing and how far spread apart they are. Well, the Ghost’s incredible demand for green does not leave it with any close competitor. The only ones close and comparable are these two. The Flying Spur’s W12 produces the most power of 626hp and is the fastest car out of the bunch taking 3.7 seconds to the 60mph mark. The Maybach and the Rolls both offer similar levels of performance, but the Rolls Royce has more power at its disposal, yet it remains almost 0.7 seconds slower than the S-Class in the quarter-mile run.

As such, the gigantic V12 of the Rolls only returns very poor fuel economy figures. The EPA estimates are 12 MPG for the city, 19 MPG for the highway, and 14 MPG for combined driving. The Bentley Flying Spur averages a combined mileage of 15 MPG and with the largest fuel tank, it manages to cover 50 additional miles when compared to the Rolls-Royce. 

Ah, the interior of a Rolls-Royce. Where do we start and where do we end? Every single corner, every single nook, and cranny is covered in either leather or the highest-quality aluminum. There is no room for cheap plastic in a car like this. The design is extremely classy and the interior will spoil anybody. You can drive the car yourself or have your chauffeur let you drive you around. There is leather upholstery on every surface that you have to touch. The seats have stitched leather and the rear row has lambswool carpets that make your feet feel more comfortable than most other cars make your body. The dashboard has a starlit design and looks gorgeous, with buttons and dials within easy reach. Combine the ride quality and the materials, the experience is heavenly. There are also a gazillion color schemes and themes to choose from. Optionally, you can also include the Starlight Headliner to simulate an open sky. Simply brilliant. 

The driver’s seat is 10-way power adjustable with 4-way lumbar support. The seats are adorned in finely grained leather with gorgeous stitching. For the rear passengers, just with the push of a button, a table and a screen pop out from behind the front seats. The front and rear row is superbly spacious and the rear passenger has fields worth of legroom. The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost also offers 17.3 cubic feet of cargo storage, which is plenty of space. It will easily hold all your luggage and your suitcases for your business trips. If you opt for the optional refrigeration at the rear seat, that will eat some of your space in the trunk. But at least, you will have your champagne ready and cool. There are also plenty of small-item storage solutions inside.

In all of these cars, it’s all about the rear seat experience and pleasure. All of these cars are great in their own way, but if we had to make a choice, we would choose the Ghost. Not only is it the most expensive, but it also offers the best interior experience with the best ride quality. It also gets a higher cargo capacity than its rivals and manages a trunk volume of 17.3 cu.-ft as opposed to the 14.8 and 12.9 cu.-ft that the Bentley and Maybach manage.

The Ghost comes with a 10.25” BMW iDrive infotainment screen integrated into the dashboard. It is responsive and also intuitive, even though it might take some time to get used to. Follow the manual and you should be fine. The Ghost comes with AM/FM radio, HD radio, satellite radio, Bluetooth, internal memory w/ 12.5 GB, Wi-Fi hotspot, etc. Apple CarPlay is also available. It also has in-dash navigation. The rear-seat passengers get two screens with the push of a button and they can enter a destination for the driver, check the vehicle stats, set their music or radio, and do other stuff. The sound quality in the Ghost is also excellent. The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost is a gorgeous and marvelous piece of engineering. Not outlandish, not stylish, not too “modern”; but just the right amount of elegance and class make it look like the perfect car for the big men. As usual, the iconic Pantheon grille makes its way here, but it is not too wide and sits within narrow dimensions, being covered by a chrome outline. The bumper also has a sort of curve up on either end, emphasizing a new look. The LED headlights are in classic Rolls-Royce shape, as usual. Of course, the car looks unmistakably like a classy Rolls-Royce, yet with subtle changes to make the Ghost a distinct character. The legendary Spirit of Ecstasy sits at the tip of the hood, as usual, and can be “raised” or “lowered” with controls from the infotainment system.

The Ghost includes suicide doors, so that’s why the front and rear door handles are situated side-by-side. The design is quite symmetrical. From the side, the British car looks as elegant as usual, a strong line flowing from the front wheel to the rear wheel. The rear LED taillights are nothing special when it comes to shape, at least. The dual exhaust system gives it an athletic boost. Overall, a very elegant, luxurious, and opulent design makes the car extremely classy and pleasing to look at. It rides on 19” wheels as standard, with the central “RR” logo. Yes, the logo stays upright all the time, even when the wheels rotate. You can choose to upgrade to 20” or 21” wheels.

When it comes to length and wheelbase, the S-class is the longest car on the list. The Flying Spur has the shortest wheelbase, which is still actually very long. Dimensions aside, all of these cars have their own classy look; but we think the Bentley and the Rolls-Royce are in a class of their own.

The Ghost is for those who want the ultimate luxury and comfort with no compromises. The Ghost is way more expensive but also worth the ride quality and the comfort that it provides. But both are excellent luxury cars.

2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost vs 2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-class

The Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-class is an extremely pleasing vehicle as well. It is fast, it is luxurious and it handles well. It also has lots of new tech. However, when it comes to the ultimate luxury experience, nothing can compare to the Ghost (except other Rolls-Royce models). They are not even in the same echelon if you look at it. The Ghost is also extremely more expensive, and only a niche of people can afford it, but the S-class can be afforded by slightly more. 

If you have the money and want to invest it in owning a great and impeccable luxury experience, then the Ghost is a good choice. There are its bigger brothers, but since the Ghost is entry-level, it is slightly more affordable (if you can even say that). Without spending more money than the already insanely ridiculous price tag, the 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost brings an unforgettable experience that you get nowhere else.
