2011 Ford Fiesta Review

Pros

  • High fuel economy
  • Spacious cabin
  • Great interior features

Cons

  • Cramped rear seats

The interior is well designed as well as provides great comfort to all the passengers that it accommodates. It is available at a base price of $13,200 while the top trim is available at $16,600.

Overview

The 2011 Ford Fiesta is the all-new latest model from Ford which provides a really good package at a very affordable price. It gets a 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that provides a great overall performance. It is lethargic on acceleration, but that is what you trade for an exceptional fuel economy from this vehicle.

Pricing and Features
7.0/10

The 2011 Ford Fiesta is available in three trim options, namely S SE and SEL. The base model is available at a price of $13,200, which is super affordable while it gets a handful of standard features. They are not enough to fulfill all the basic needs.

The SE trim adds in more than $1,200, but the addition of those twelve hundred dollars doesn't give you a lot of new features. The top-trim SEL is available at a price of $16,600 and adds in multiple interior features that improve the overall experience of driving the Ford Fiesta sedan.

We Recommend

We would recommend you opt for the top SEL trim because it provides much better interior features that are not available in either the base or the SE trim. At $16,600 the SEL trim provides a rear spoiler, 16-inch premium wheels, premium sound system, and the Sync Multimedia Voice Command system that improves the entertainment features. At this price point, the features that are available are worth the money and thus provides a maximum value for the money spent.

Interior
8.8/10

Even at such a lower price bracket, the 2011 Ford Fiesta provides one of the most sorted-out interior designs in this segment. It is adorned with soft-touch materials that are available in all the trim options. That makes the interior very comfortable and slightly premium in a feel.

Along with the standard features that are available in the interior like power windows, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and a premium sound system, there is also an option to opt for heated leather seats along with push-button start and a selectable 7 color ambient lighting.

The Ford Fiesta can carry up to five people inside the cabin while providing them considerable spacing at the front and rear as well. The Ford Fiesta provides a cargo capacity of 12.8 cubic feet, which is decent enough in this segment.

It also includes a Sync media voice command system which provides hands-free control over the infotainment features. Exterior
7.0/10

The 2011 Ford Fiesta sedan has a very decent look from the outside. It is not something flashy but proves to be a very minimalistic design. The small front grille supports the Ford logo. The Fiesta gets standard 15-inch steel wheels that are not the best looking and provides a cheap feel but get the work done.

It is adorned with chrome lining all around the windows as well as the parking lights. The Ford Fiesta weighs 2578 pounds. Along with that, it has a length of 174 inches and a width of 67 inches. It sits at 6 inches above the ground along with a wheelbase of 98 inches.

Along with that the IIHS has awarded the 2011 Ford Fiesta with the Top Safety Pick award in the mid car sedan segment. Thus the new Ford Fiesta is capable of safeguarding the passengers in case of an accident. Along with that the Ford Fiesta also gets a few safety features that slightly improve the safety factor of the vehicle. Here is a list of all the features that are included in the safety feature included in the 2011 Ford Fiesta:

  • Stability control
  • Traction control
  • Anti-lock braking system
  • Front-seat side airbags
  • Side curtain bags
  • Driver knee airbag

Final Verdict

The 2011 Ford Fiesta is equipped with a decent size 1.6-liter 4 cylinder engine that provides great overall performance. It is not the quickest in this segment but provides exceptional fuel economy that helps you save more money. Along with that, the base price of the Ford Fiesta is very affordable as well as the top SEL trim comes at a very decent price.

The interior is well designed and provides great comfort by accommodating up to five people inside the cabin. It does lack the cargo capacity, but there is no other vehicle in its competition that provides any better cargo capacity. Thus if you are looking for a very affordable sedan that does all the basic things perfectly, then you should definitely take a look at the 2011 Ford Fiesta.
