The new 2011 Mazda 3 comes with a lot of standard safety features, which include ABS, stability and traction control, brake assist, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags. Other advanced safety tech includes Traction Control, Stability Control, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Rearview Camera, 360-degree Camera, and Blind-Spot Monitoring. The Mazda 3 was given very good crash test scores by NHTSA and IIHS including a 4-star rating from NHTSA and ‘Good’ from IIHS. Major safety features include-
The Mazda 3 is more affordable, quicker off the mark, and also offers a more agile ride and handling as compared to the Cruze. While the Chevy Cruze is more frugal and is more comfortable on the streets. It looks good inside and out and offers spacious seating and cargo space for all. That said, the higher reliability makes Mazda the preferred choice.
The Impreza is powered by a larger and more powerful engine which makes it far quicker off the mark. Add to that the standard AWD drivetrain which aids in adverse conditions, and the higher asking price does not make much of an issue. But the considerably low MPG ratings and cramped rear-seat space, do put the Mazda 3 ahead in this comparison.
While Corolla is priced similarly to that of the Mazda 3, it is slower off the mark. But on the other hand, it is far more fuel-efficient and offers a comfortable cabin. Mazda offers more technology as standard, Corolla is more reliable in the long run and has lower running costs, making it the winner between the two.
The 2011 Mazda 3 is a very good car, with two engine options offering enough power on disposal and offering good handling and driving dynamics. But, the base engine of the Mazda 3 is not a proper sporty one. Although the base engine is not as powerful as its rivals, the Mazda 3 still is a truly capable and spacious midsize sedan offering great ride quality, exceptional safety features, and crash test scores. And also the more powerful engine in the higher trims is plenty powerful and offers great performance.
