The 2011 Mazda 3 Touring trim starts at $18,100 and comes with a 2.0 L Inline-4 mated to a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission churning out 148 hp of maximum power and 135 lb-ft of maximum torque.

The 2011 Mazda 3 is a pretty fuel-efficient car delivering a comparatively better fuel efficiency in the segment. The new 2011 Mazda 3 has a spacious interior with lots of space in the front row seats, which are comfortable and supportive. The i level trims offer a great quality interior with a good fit and finish whereas the materials and elements in the interior of the s level trims are premium and they do feel expensive. 

There is an ample amount of space on the interior of the cabin even in the second row. The s Sport trim offers extremely bolstered front seats and leather-covered steering and shift knob while the s Grand Touring trim comes with leather upholstery as standard. 

The Subaru is the most spacious on the front row, having the most legroom, whereas the Mazda has more legroom in the second row. The Impreza is powered by a larger and more powerful engine which makes it far quicker off the mark. While Corolla is priced similarly to that of the Mazda 3, it is slower off the mark. But on the other hand, it is far more fuel-efficient and offers a comfortable cabin. Mazda offers more technology as standard, Corolla is more reliable in the long run and has lower running costs, making it the winner between the two. 

The 2011 Mazda 3 is a very good car, with two engine options offering enough power on disposal and offering good handling and driving dynamics. But, the base engine of the Mazda 3 is not a proper sporty one. Although the base engine is not as powerful as its rivals, the Mazda 3 still is a truly capable and spacious midsize sedan offering great ride quality, exceptional safety features, and crash test scores. And also the more powerful engine in the higher trims is plenty powerful and offers great performance.
