The hatchback comes with a sticker price of $25,575 for the base trim and goes up to $27,975 for the R-Design trim.

We recommend going for the T5 trim. Both the trims have the same mechanics and the same stand along with options and packages. We do recommend getting the Climate control package and would leave the leather choice to you. We would also say to get the navigation system. Thus, base trim with optional packages is the best option to buy this hot-hatch.

The Volvo C30 is powered by a 2.5 liter turbocharged inline-5 which makes 227 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. As standard, a 6-speed manual transmission directs all the power to the front wheels. There is an option to get a 6-speed automatic with the same drivetrain.

In performance testing, the Volvo C30 does the 0-60 sprint in 6.4 seconds and does the quarter-mile in 15 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 149 mph. Both trims of the car achieve the same numbers. However, when it comes to the automatic transmission, the 0-60 time drops to 6.7 seconds and the quarter-mile drops to 15.2 seconds.

The most powerful of the above cars is the Volvo C30 making 227 hp. The Volkswagen Golf GTI is the next most powerful making 200 hp, followed by the Mini Cooper S and the Subaru Impreza making 181hp and 170 hp, respectively. The fastest 0-60mph is set by Volkswagen Golf GTI with a time of 6.0 seconds. When it comes to top-speed, both Volkswagen and Volvo offer a top speed of 149 mph.

The 2011 Volvo C30 gives 21 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and a combined mpg of 24. Volvo fits the C30 with a 15.9-gallon fuel tank, which allows it to have a range of 334 miles in the city, 461 miles on the highway, and a combined range of 381 miles. These are quite average for a hatchback.

The most combined range is given by the Mini Cooper S of 396 miles and then comes the Volvo C30 with a combined range of 381 miles, the Subaru Impreza with a combined range of 371 miles followed by the Volkswagen Golf GTI with a range of 362 miles. When comparing the mileage figures, Mini Cooper S offers the best combined mileage figure of 30 mpg.

The Interior of the Volvo C30 can seat 4 occupants. The front part of the cabin is shared with the S40 sedan, which is a good-looking interior. The back row seats might feel a bit cramped for a tall person, otherwise, the back row seats are decently spaced. The front row seats are manually adjustable (including height adjustable) with leksand T-Tec seat upholstery.

Partial leather upholstery is available on the T5 R-Design trim. The Volvo C30 comes with a space of 15.3 cu.ft, which can be expanded by folding down the rear seats in the 50/50 configuration. 

In terms of legroom, the Subaru Impreza offers the most in the front, whereas the Volvo C30 is similar to the Mini and the Golf. In terms of rear legroom, the most is offered by Volkswagen, then comes the Volvo C30, Subaru, and then the Mini. However, most space in the trunk is offered by the Impreza of 19 cu.ft. How intuitive is the Infotainment unit of the 2011 Volvo C30?

The Volvo C30 comes with a CD player which also has the features of Bluetooth connectivity and comes with an 8-speaker audio system. The exterior of the Volvo C30 is much more sportier than other cars, after all, it does look like a hatchback version of the S40 sedan. The exterior has also been refreshed to get a new front end. The features list is quite good as it includes 17-inch wheels on the base trim.

The T5 R-design trim gets an 18” wheel, foglights, and a much sportier exterior trim. Options include bi-xenon headlights, foglights on the T5 trim, rain-sensing wipers, and a sunroof. 

In terms of exterior dimensions, the Volvo C30 is longer than the Mini and similar to the Golf GTI in length, but shorter than the Impreza. It is also wider than the Mini, but similar to the others. The rest of the dimensions are almost similar to the others. The difference does come in the form of curb weight, where the Volvo C30 is the heaviest of the above cars. NHTSA has not yet given safety ratings to the 2011 Volvo C30, we expect good scores from the hatchback.
