We would recommend you the Turbo trim since it gives the best value for money with a lively performance and a well-equipped interior for the price.

It's Convertible, It's standard
It's small, Interior is cheap

Fiat is an Italian carmaker known for its great urban vehicles and rich history of making great classic cars as well. The Fiat 500 was introduced back in 1957 and sold until 1975. The modern 500 hatchback is based on the Fiat Trepiùno concept from 2004 and was finally reintroduced in 2007.
The 2013 Fiat 500 hatchback is offered in four trim levels and two engine options, a basic I-4 motor, and a turbocharged version of the same motor with more power. The trims levels start with the base Pop trim at a price of $16,195 and offer a decent set of features for the price. The list of features includes heated mirrors, keyless entry, air-conditioning, full power accessories, cruise control, cloth upholstery, a height-adjustable driver seat, 50/50 split-folding rear seats, a trip computer, a tilt-only leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system. Stepping up to the Sport trim adds a sport-tuned suspension, a sporty steering wheel, special exterior design trims, and front sport seats. The Lounge trim drops all the sporty features of the Sport trim and reverts to the mechanical settings of the base Pop trim but gets a premium-looking exterior chrome trim, premium cloth upholstery, and a fixed glass roof. The top-end Turbo trim gets a more powerful turbocharged version of the base 1.4liter motor along with a set of bigger brakes, a roof spoiler, and a leather-wrapped shift-knob.

Apart from the Sport trim, all the trims of the 2013 Fiat 500 get the basic i.4liter I-4 motor to power the car. The motor can push out a maximum of 101 horsepower and 98lb-ft of torque. The power figures are more than adequate to denote the lackluster performance it offers.
The 0-60mph timing is quite slow at 10.5 seconds but opting for the Turbo trim improves the overall performance to a great extent. The base motor is just okay for city runs with minimal load. The moment you hit the highways, the motor starts to struggle to keep up with the fast-paced traffic, and quick-overtakes are a lot tougher to execute than average. The standard 5-speed manual transmission is decent at the most while it gives a great driving pleasure in the Turbo model.

The Ford Fiesta hatchback has almost double the power output and better torque output than the Fiat 500, bearing a lower price tag than the latter. The Honda Fit also has comparable power and torque figures to the Ford Fiesta and is way better than the basic 500 hatchback in terms of performance.

The Ford Fiesta delivers excellent fuel economy figures considering its impressive power figures. The Honda Fit has the least fuel economy figures but is decent for its performance stats.
The interior of the Fiat 500 hatchback is nothing impressive as compared to some of its rivals in the segment. But there are some fancy and snazzy design bits throughout the cabin and the quality of the interior materials are quite up to the mark considering its price tag.
The front seats are comfortable and supportive for both short and long distance travels. The rear seat is tighter than usual owing to the above average compactness of the car. The controls are laid out in a straightforward manner and are quite easy to use as well.

The Ford Fiesta has a much better cabin and comfort levels as compared to the Fiat 500 along with a practical and usable rear seat as well. The Honda Fit also has a quality cabin for the price and offers more space than the Fiat 500 too.
The infotainment system of the Fiat 500 is quite basic in the base trim and comes with features such as Bluetooth and a six-speaker sound system, a CD player, auxiliary audio input, and iPod integration. The Sport trim offers an upgraded Alpine audio system. The optional Beats Premium Audio package adds premium speakers for a better sound output along with satellite radio as well.
Infotainment features:
The Fiat 500 might not look as cute as the “Bug” from Volkswagen, but it definitely looks better than most of its rivals such as the Honda Fit and the Toyota Yaris.
The front end looks the most interesting with the button-like headlamp units and a moustache-like front fascia design. From the side, the proportions are tall which gives the car an added compactness.

The Ford Fiesta looks and feels more heavier and bulkier than the Fiat 500 from every angle and looks quite stylish too. The Honda Fit has a mediocre overall design and styling cues that pales in front of both the Fiat 500 and the Fiesta.
The safety aspect of the Fiat 500 hatchback is average. The car got a three-star rating from the NHTSA while the IIHS gave it a best possible rating of “Good”. The standard safety features include stability control, traction control, antilock disc brakes, a driver knee airbag, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags.

If you want a break from the mainstream budget hatchbacks and want something that looks interesting as well as stylish, the Fiat 500 is a brilliant option. The base four-pot motor might act as a deal-breaker with its sub-par performance but it can be solved with the turbocharged motor equipped Turbo trim. Apart from that, the car is a perfect choice for two with a decent cabin and unconventional styling.
