Adding the Tech-package does offer a long list of features thereby increasing the overall practicality of the car and also provide a better user experience. However, the car does have more than enough features to offer even without the package but the price, it is being offered is extremely worth it.

The Mazda Speed3 is a front-wheel-driven car that features a 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It produces 263hp of power and 280lb-ft of torque. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox and doesn’t offer any other transmission system.

The Mazda Speed3 can go from 0 to 60 MPH in 6.5 seconds while its competitor the Ford Focus ST does it in 6.2 seconds. The Mazda Speed3 is capable to reach the top speed of 155 MPH.

In comparison, the Ford Focus ST makes use of a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that delivers a power of 252hp and 270lb-ft of torque. The interior of the Mazda Speed3 is upgraded as compared to the previous regular Mazda 3. With its upgraded performance gauges and sporty front seats that have standard black leather upholstery with cloth, inserts look decent. In an effort to add up a few more sporty flavors to the interiors a red-dot pattern is provided on the upholstery but it turns out to be a failure to do so. 

The front bucket seats are quite comfortable but have limited seat adjustment and support options. The rear seats offer decent comfort, support and are reasonably spacious. The cargo of this hatchback is not the largest in the segment. Although, the capacity of 17 cubic feet with rear seats raised and 42.8 with them raised increases the practicality.

In comparison, the Ford Focus ST does offer more or less the same cabin space and seat comfort. However, the cabin of Focus ST feels much sporty and upmarket as compared to the Mazda Speed3. The all-black upholstery with blue inserts looks extremely sporty and the interior materials are undoubtedly the best in class. 2013 Mazda Speed3 Infotainment system response

The Mazda Speed3 infotainment system does work extremely well and is better than the rival’s MyFord touch system. TomTom’s upgraded navigation is one of the best navigation systems in its segment. It, however, comes equipped with some advanced features like a CD player, Bluetooth compatibility, auxiliary audio input AM/FM stereo, and a WMA playback. Some other infotainment features include:

The Mazda Speed3 looks extremely sporty with that sleek and elongated hood scoop. The front obtuse-shaped halogen-based headlamps are suppressed back and do match the overall design of the vehicle.

 The Mazda Speed3 is 3,281 in its curb weight and is over 50lbs heavier than its rival. Its 18-inch grey aluminum alloy wheels look bold in design. It has a ground clearance of 4.7 inches with 57.5 inches of body height. Mazda Speed3 has a total length and wheelbase of 177.6 and 103.9 inches respectively.

While the Ford Focus ST does have a bit spacious cabin and a much bigger cargo area the exterior dimension of both these vehicles are more or less the same.
