Audi is one of the oldest German automobile manufacturers and has gradually become a household name with its excellent portfolio of vehicles.
Audi is one of the oldest German automobile manufacturers and has gradually become a household name with its excellent portfolio of vehicles. The Audi S4 is the high-performance version of the regular A4 sedan and was introduced back in 1991.
We would suggest you the Prestige trim with the automatic transmission for the best experience but if you like to be in total control of everything, the manual transmission would suit you perfectly.

Audi is one of the oldest German automobile manufacturers and has gradually become a household name with its excellent portfolio of vehicles. The Audi S4 is the high-performance version of the regular A4 sedan and was introduced back in 1991.
The Audi S4 is offered in two trim levels and two transmission options. The powertrain, however, remains the same for both the trims. The Premium Plus trim is priced at $48,100 for the manual transmission and $49,500 for the automatic model. The standard features of this trim include summer performance tires, selectable driving settings, sunroof, automatic xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, foglights, automatic wipers, tri-zone automatic climate control, heated eight-way power front sport seats, driver memory settings, leather & simulated suede upholstery, aluminum interior accents, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat, auto-dimming mirrors, and Bluetooth phone connectivity. We would suggest you the Prestige trim with the automatic transmission for the best experience but if you like to be in total control of everything, the manual transmission would suit you perfectly.
The Audi S4 is powered by a 3.0liter supercharged V6 motor. The powerplant pushes out a maximum of 333 horsepower and 325lb-ft of maximum torque. The motor sounds excellent and is quite rev-happy in nature. The refinement levels are excellent and there is a strong surge of power the moment you put your foot down with the supercharger at play. The seven-speed S-Tronic transmission does an excellent job with quick and seamless gear shifts. The sedan can catapult to 60mph from a standstill in a sub-5 second time of 4.9 seconds flat.

The BMW 335i has better mileage ratings owing to its lower power figures. The Volvo S60 again impresses with its fuel economy figures but has a slightly lower highway mileage than the S4.
The interior of the Audi S4 is similar to the A4, retaining its elegant and functional design with the necessary premium touch. All the materials boast premium quality and top-notch fit & finish levels. The notable difference between the A4’s interior and the S4’s are the flat-bottom steering wheel, more supportive sport seats, and gray-faced instruments. The front seats are superbly comfortable with adequate bolstering and support.
The rear seats are decent with enough legroom and headroom for two passengers going on a long trip. Packing in three at the rear seats will make the ride comfortable only for shorter distances. The trunk space is decent at 12.4 cubic feet.

The BMW 335i has a less spacious cabin as compared to the S4 but boasts a similar premium feel barring the more conservative design language. The Volvo S60 has an excellent and plush cabin on offer with comfortable seats and adequate space for all the passengers inside.
The infotainment system of the S4 is none other than Audi’s own MMI system that offers some excellent features to keep you and your passengers entertained at all times. The standard features include Bluetooth phone connectivity, a 10-speaker sound system with a CD player, iPod interface and satellite radio.
The Prestige trim adds voice controls, a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, center console-mounted MMI controller, Bluetooth audio connectivity, Audi Connect smartphone integration, a navigation system, and HD radio.
Infotainment features of the sedan are:
The S4 looks quite similar to the regular A4 sedan but has some noticeable exterior design changes to depict its performance-oriented status. The changes include a different front-end design that comes with a chrome front grille and wider air dams placed on either side of the front bumper.
The sedan also comes with bigger and sportier wheels along with dual exhaust tips which are missing from the A4.

The BMW 335i has a distinctive appeal to its design language and has a mildly aggressive front end design. The Volvo S60 comes with a sharp styling with an intuitive looking front end design and sculpted lines on the hood.
As it is expected out of a German sedan, the Audi S4 comes with an excellent safety aspect as well apart from its brilliant performance. The sedan bagged a top 5-star rating from the NHTSA and the best possible “Good” rating from the IIHS as well. The standard safety features of the sedan include anti lock brakes, traction and stability control, hill launch assist, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. The Prestige trim offers a rearview camera, rear parking sensors and a blind-spot warning system. Adaptive cruise control can also be equipped at an extra cost that further adds adaptive cruise control, a collision warning and mitigation feature.
Safety features of the S4 sedan are:
If you’re bored with the regular A4 sedan, the brand has got you covered with its sportier S4 sedan. The sedan doesn’t compromise on any of the functionality and practicality of the standard A4 and further adds a bigger supercharged motor with a brilliant performance and excellent handling. The sedan is also as comfortable as the A4 but is less fuel-efficient owing to the significant increase in performance.
