Overall Rating
The 2014 Buick Encore provides seating for five people along with impressive tech and a good-looking interior. It competes with the Mini Cooper Countryman and the Subaru XV Crosstrek.
Launched only in 2013 as the smallest Buick SUV, the 2014 Buick Encore remains mostly unchanged which is no surprise. For 2014, the Buick Encore does get some new optional extras like Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert. Everything else remains exactly the same as the outgoing 2013 Encore.
Available in four different trims with either an AWD or FWD drivetrain, the Encore stands out among other subcompact SUVs. While it may not be as spacious and energetic as a Subaru Crosstrek or Mini Countryman, it brings up a unique amalgamation of comfort, premiumness and advanced features, at a decent price.
The Leather trim is the one to go for as it offers added premium features, including leather-appointed seating (Ebony, Titanium, or Saddle), heated steering wheel, 6-way power passenger seat with manual recline and power lumbar, seated seats driver and front passenger, and memory seat for driver seat position.

One major issue with the Encore is its comparatively low-powered engine and slower acceleration figures. The Mini Cooper Countryman S would be the better option to opt for in this segment as it provides better power figures and more peppy acceleration.
