The CTS-V also gets the standard six airbags for safety, a rear-view backup camera, ultrasonic rear park assist, and a side blind-zone alert system. Additional safety features include StabiliTrak electronic suspension control system and traction control. Powering this luxury sport coupe is the beefy LSA 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 engine, which is based on the LS9 engine that drives the C6 Corvette ZR1. Certainly, that's a powerful pedigree, and this V8 doesn't disappoint, pumping out an impressive 556 hp with 551 lb-ft of torque. That makes it the most powerful engine in Cadillac's history for 2013. The LSA power plant features an intercooled Eaton supercharger with unique air inlet and outlet ports, as well as twin 4-lobe rotors, designed to optimize airflow to the engine, resulting in smooth, efficient operation. Cadillac also tuned the supercharger's noise and vibration levels to give the engine a unique sound and feel. Power is sent rearward via a 6-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters in addition to the center console located gear selector. The CTS-V sits on a rear-wheel-drive platform shared by all CTS incarnations. However, Cadillac adds a high-performance rear axle incorporating a limited-slip differential designed to appropriately channel the V8's powerful torque. The sport-tuned suspension includes Cadillac's Magnetic Ride Control, which uses upgraded shocks with magneto-rheological technology, as opposed to mechanical valves, to instantly adjust damping at all 4 corners, ensuring an agile yet firmly planted ride. Stopping duties rely on the incredible Cadillac/Brembo designed braking system featuring 6-piston calipers up front paired with 4-piston calipers out back. Brake rotors up front measure a whopping 15" diameter while the rears come in at 14.7". Rolling stock consists of factory 19" wheels wrapped with 255/40/19 tires up front and 285/35/19's out back.
