The 2014 Kia Optima Sedan is powered by a 2.4 Liter Inline 4 engine. The engine is capable of generating 192 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a Front Wheel Drive and 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission as standard.

The base engine of the Kia Optima is stronger than most of its competitors in the segment. The sedan touches the 60 mph mark in 8.5 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 16.1 seconds.
