The Volvo S60 sedan is powered by a turbocharged 2.5liter I-5 motor, a configuration that is not seen in most of the segment rivals. The motor delivers a maximum of 250 horsepower and 266lb-ft of torque. The sedan comes in a standard FWD layout and gets a 6-speed automatic transmission that does a good job of managing all the power from the engine efficiently to provide a seamless driving experience.

The Volvo S60 has decent fuel economy ratings considering its performance and power figures. The city mileage of the sedan is rated at 21mpg while the highway mileage is rated at 30mpg. The combined mileage is rated at 24mpg.

The Acura TL has the least fuel economy figures on paper but actually does an impressive job considering the impressive power output it offers. The Lexus ES is the most fuel-efficient sedan on the list.

The cabin of the Volvo S60 is on par with the rivals with a bit of Scandinavian approach to the interior trims such as the wood and metal trims. The overall plastic, leather, and vinyl are of premium quality and the fit and finish levels are commendable for the segment. The layout of the controls is pretty straightforward and easy to use and the centrally-mounted infotainment screen looks nice on the dashboard.

The front seats offer a good amount of comfort and support for both long and short trips, making it better than some of its rivals in the segment. The rear seats are quite comfortable as well but might feel cramped for tall adults owing to the shortage of legroom and footroom. The trunk space is also smaller than average at 12 cu-ft.

The Acura TL lacks the premium feel of the S60 on the inside and fails to offer a matching comfort level for the front seats as compared to the latter. The Lexus ES has a plush and luxurious cabin with adequate comfort and boasts a decent trunk capacity of 14.8 cu-ft.

Infotainment

The infotainment system of the Volvo S60 comes with a centrally mounted 7-inch display screen and covers almost all the basic entertainment features. The Volvo S60 is one of the best looking modern sedans on the market from the brand and it looks more appealing than most of its rivals including its German counterparts as well.
