Some exterior styling upgrade packages are also available such as the S Line Plus Carbon package. This package adds 19-inch matte-black wheels, carbon-fiber exterior, and interior styling with trims details. The Audi TT coupe is powered by a standard turbocharged 2.0liter four-pot motor offering a decent 211 horsepower and 258lb-ft of torque. The power output figures might not seem sporty but the brilliant dual-clutch transmission and the standard Quattro AWD system utilizes all the juice from the motor extremely efficiently with lightning quick shifts and negligible loss of traction. 

Owing to the sport car status of the TT, the four-pot has a distinctive exhaust note to enhance the feel and combined with the agility of the car, it complements it nicely. The car can accelerate from 0-60mph within 5.3 seconds, making it as capable as its more powerful rivals. The handling of the car is also on point with an excellent chassis tuning and the precise steering wheel, making it an ideal car to enjoy those sharp corners and curvy hair-pin bends.

The BMW 428i has a significantly higher horsepower count than the Audi TT but has a marginally lower torque output and it doesn’t offer the agility and precision of the latter as well. The Cadillac ATS is an absolute charmer with a way more power output and torque output but is not a sharp handler as the Audi TT.

Sports cars are not fuel efficient is a thing of the past, and the modern sports cars deliver excellent fuel economy without compromising on the fuel efficiency. The Audi TT coupe offers a city mileage of 22mpg and an equally impressive highway mileage of 31mpg. The combined mileage is rated at 26mpg.

The BMW 428i has a slightly better mileage rating than the TT coupe and can be said as impressive too considering the power it has on tap. The Cadillac ATS surprises truly with a similar fuel economy rating as the Audi TT despite having a significantly higher power and torque output.

It doesn't matter if it is a compact vehicle such as the A3 sedan or an ultra-luxurious vehicle such as the A8 sedan, Audi has never compromised on the quality of its interior and the build quality of the cabin. The Audi TT coupe also comes with a handsomely designed interior laid out with premium quality materials. The gauges and the controls are laid out as ergonomically as possible to keep the driver focused while driving apart from the navigation system’s weird dash-mounted controller that makes it inconvenient to use while driving. 

The front seats are quite comfortable and the simulated suede inserts along with the proper bolstering provide more than adequate support while driving enthusiastically. The rear-seats are there for the sake of it and are practically unusable for both adults and kids other than storing extra handbags or luggage items. The coupe also offers a decent 13.1-cubic-foot of trunk space and it can be increased to 24.7 cubic feet by folding the rear seats. The large hatchback-style rear trunk lid opens wide and allows for easy loading and unloading of cargo or luggage items.

The BMW 428i has a better headroom for the front passengers and a practically usable rear seat with decent headroom and legroom on offer. The Cadillac ATS also offers similar headroom for the front passengers as the TT coupe and its rear seats are quite usable but are a bit cramped than the 428i’s rear seats.

Infotainment

Audi always packs almost all its cars with an excellent infotainment system and the Audi TT isn’t an exception. The infotainment system comes with a 6.5-inch LCD display that includes SiriusXM Radio, real-time traffic, and two SD card slots for MP3s. Other infotainment system features include Bluetooth phone connectivity, a 12-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system along with a CD player, satellite radio and auxiliary audio jack. The available Navigation package further adds rear parking sensors, a navigation system, real-time traffic, an iPod interface, and a driver information display.

The Audi TT coupe retains its contemporary design language making it instantly recognizable among the traffic. With its humble yet classy appeal, it now looks more like a baby R8 and its performance nicely complements the design too.

Overall, the coupe is quite compact as opposed to its rivals which resulted in an unusable back seat. The ground clearance is also decent at 5.3 inches.

The BMW 428i has a longer and better stance than the Audi TT but lacks the latter’s handsome appeal. The Cadillac ATS has a dashing design to attract the right set of customers for itself.

The Audi TT coupe is a low selling sports car hence, the US safety rating agencies, the NHTSA and IIHS, have not crash-tested it therefore no safety ratings are available for the car. Despite that, the car comes with a good set of safety features to keep the occupants safe and sound. The standard safety features include traction and stability control, antilock disc brakes, hill-hold assist, front knee airbags, and front side airbags. Rear parking sensors are added with the optional Navigation package but sadly, there is no rearview camera on offer.

The Audi TT coupe offers a nice blend of performance and comfort along with a sports car status as well. The coupe falls short in terms of the rear seat usability that gives its rivals an edge over it. Apart from that, it is a brilliant machine with handsome styling and excellent handling capabilities combined with a punchy four-cylinder engine that also returns some respectable fuel economy numbers as well.
