Powering the base and mid-level trim of the coupe-SUV is a 3.0L straight 6-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 300hp of power and 300lb.-ft of torque. The top-of-the-line variant, the xDrive50i comes equipped with a 4.4L twin-turbo 8-cylinder engine that produces higher power and torque outputs at 445hp and 480lb.-ft respectively. Thus, the top-rack variant promises more power. 

The X6 comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that is available with manual shifting modes. The BMW’s capabilities are evident by the timings that the SUV manages both in the acceleration test and quarter-mile run. The latest iteration of the X6 boosts to the 60 MPH mark in 5.7 seconds which is .2 and 1.2 seconds faster than the competitors in the GL class and Q7 respectively.
