The 2015 Buick LaCrosse is the brand’s flagship offering and hence has high aspirations riding on it in order to cement the brand’s premium image. It is a full-size luxury sedan that comes with a lot of standard features and great styling.
We feel that the Buick LaCrosse is best experienced in the Leather trim. This is because it comes with very handy features such as leather upholstery, driver-seat memory functions, heated front seats, and auto dimming mirrors. These technologies are quite ahead of their time and are offered in much more premium category vehicles. It truly emphasizes the luxury aspirations of the brand and provides the best that it has to offer.

We feel that the Buick LaCrosse is best experienced in the Leather trim. The Buick LaCrosse is offered with a choice of two powertrains. The base trims come with a 2.4L four-cylinder engine that is paired to a mild hybrid system with an 11 kW electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output is 182 hp and 172 pound-feet of torque. This is then connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and power is sent to the front wheels only.
A 3.6L V6 is the other engine offered, which comes as an option in the base trims, and as standard on the higher trims. Again, front-wheel drive is standard, and six-speed automatic transmission is used, but you can opt for an all-wheel-drive drivetrain as well. This engine produces 304 hp and 264 pound-feet of torque.

After looking at the spec sheet, one has no doubt about the Dodge Charger being the most powerful in the acceleration figures. The Buick is still very capable and holds a candle to the Dodge Charger despite being a more luxurious offering. The Japanese and Korean rivals have much less performance in terms of 0 to 60 mph and quarter-mile times despite having almost similar power outputs.
The Buick is rather versatile in terms of its powertrain when it comes to accessing it from a fuel efficiency standpoint as well. The four-cylinder engine is a hybrid and returns 29 mpg combined and translates to 25 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. Although these figures are pretty impressive, it does not stay in the same ballpark as its hybrid competitors.
The base V-6 engine on the other hand returns 21 mpg combined, 18 MPG in the city, and 20 MPG on the highway. Opting for the all-wheel-drive platform sees one mpg drop in all cycles. A rather large fuel tank capacity of 16.6 gallons makes sure that it returns a good range - 298.8 miles inside the city and 348.6 miles on the highway.

None of the cars in comparison have gas-guzzling engines, and the Toyota Avalon is the most fuel-efficient of the lot. It also has a fuel tank capacity of 17 gallons, which puts it at a safe spot in terms of range. The maximum range can be found in the Kia Cadenza, thanks to the best in class fuel tank capacity of 18.5 gallons. LaCrosse turns out to be the least efficient with a combined mileage of just 21 mpg.
The interiors of the Buick are very well designed, and the wraparound dashboard is very nice to look at. Material quality is also pretty good for the price.
The sedan shows that Buick has invested quite a bit in its flagship model. The space offered is also quite generous in the interiors, and the seats are supportive and comfortable. The trunk space is rather low at 15.6 ft.³.

One can observe that all cars are pretty evenly matched in terms of interior space as well as trunk volume. The Buick offers the least cargo capacity but the difference is not much. Both front and rear row seats offer excellent head, shoulder, and legroom. The car can seat five passengers with ease. Some of its interior features include:
The infotainment unit offered in the Buick is an 8-inch touchscreen that is easy to use but a little bit hard to reach from the driver seat.
The IntelliLink system is user-friendly and the graphics are crisp and neat. Buick has offered various standard tech features for ease during long journeys. Few standout infotainment features available are-
The Buick LaCrosse features a very elegant design but is not much of a head-turner. The design is pretty conservative but is nice to look at anyway.
The proportions are nice and measure up dimensionally to that of a full-size sedan. It measures 197.5 inches in length, 73.5 inches in width, and 57.5 inches in height. It has a wheelbase of 114.4 inches.

One can see that the Buick would have been the longest and nearly the lightest sedan, had it not been for the imposing Dodge Charger. But it is surprising to see that the Toyota is actually smaller even though its design makes it look bigger. The Dodge is the heaviest and is closely followed by the Buick. Some exterior highlights of the LaCrosse are-
The Buick LaCrosse was built with very specific safety targets in mind and has scored well in crash tests conducted by both the IIHS and the NHTSA. The IIHS has awarded it an overall rating of ‘Good’ whereas the NHTSA has given it all five stars, both the highest ratings possible. Some standout safety features include:
The2015 Buick LaCrosse is a full-size sedan that gets good powertrain options, great features, and decent design at a very decent price point. It is a complete package that promises much more than the sum of its parts. It does good for the reputation of Buick as a luxury manufacturer and meets most of the buyers' expectations with ease.
