The Chevrolet Camaro is a name very familiar to muscle car enthusiasts and the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro carries over to 2015 with no major changes. The new Chevrolet Camaro comes with a 3.6 L V6 engine under the hood mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while a 6-speed automatic is optional. The Camaro is obviously a rear-wheel-drive machine and offers impressive handling and driving dynamics.
The 2015 Chevy Camaro is offered in four trim options which are 1LS, 2LS, 1LT, and 2LT. The SS, ZL1, and Z/28 models are placed above these base models and they would be covered in a separate review. The LS and LT models are powered by the same 3.6 L V6 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while a 6-speed automatic is optional. The following table depicts the detailed feature list and the prices of each trim of the 2015 Chevy Camaro.

The 1LT trim of the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro is the best choice as it offers the necessary features while the lower trims are too barebones. The 1LT is also much lower-priced than the higher 2LT trim which makes it the more value for money proposition. So this is the trim to opt for if you’re looking to buy a Camaro.
The engine powering the new Chevrolet Camaro is a 3.6 L V6 mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while a 6-speed automatic is optional. This engine generates 323 hp and 278 lb-ft of maximum power and torque. The engine is responsive and there is an ample amount of power and it is delivered in a linear manner with great punch. The Camaro takes 5.9 seconds to reach a speed of 60mph and crosses the quarter-mile mark in 14.4 seconds. These figures are not the best in the segment but are impressively fast.

In comparison, the Mustang is the fastest of the lot, reaching 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and crossing the quarter-mile mark in 14.1 seconds. The Camaro comes in at second place with an increased power output but much lower torque compared to the Mustang. The Challenger closely follows the Camaro, but the Subaru is the slowest one here with the weakest engine and lowest power figures.
On the flip side, the Subaru is a slick handling machine as it is a proper sports car compared to the muscle cars here. The Chevy also has impressive driving dynamics but with more power and grip compared to the Subaru which makes it engaging and fun to drive. The Challenger is the most uninspiring to drive as it has the largest footprint.
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe delivers fuel efficiency of 17 mpg in the city, 28 on the highway, and 20 mpg in the combined road and driving conditions. The Camaro Coupe gets a 19-gallon fuel capacity, outputting a range of 323 miles in the city, 532 on the highway, and a combined range of 380 miles. These efficiency figures are much lower and are practically disappointing compared with other vehicles in the segment.

The least powerful, Subaru was expected to be the most efficient, but Ford beats the Subaru in terms of efficiency. The strong EcoBoost engine under the hood of the Mustang delivers the most efficiency which is impressive. The Challenger resides below these two while the Camaro is a total failure in terms of fuel economy. The Chevy, however, has the largest fuel capacity but still due to the abysmal efficiency figures it fails to excite with a low range. The Challenger can travel the most without a refill followed by the Mustang while the Subaru delivers the least range.
The 201 Camaro Coupe has a stylish and good-looking interior made up of quality materials even though there is an abundant usage of plastic found inside. There is also an ample amount of space in the front row, and the seats are comfortable for the front passengers. The base trims feature lower-quality materials and cloth upholstery, while the higher trims have leather-covered seats and a better features list. Overall, the interior is a good one but definitely not the best in the segment, and there are serious visibility issues due to the thick roof pillars and small glass area. The Camaro has a cargo capacity of 11.3 cu-ft, which is on the lower side compared to the competitors.

There is no competition for the Dodge Challenger in terms of interior space and comfort. It could seat adults in the second row ‘comfortably’ which none of the other competitors could even dream of. The Challenger also has the most luggage space while the Camaro and the BRZ are the least spacious options. The following are the most important interior features of the 2015 Chevy Camaro-
The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro features a 7-inch Chevrolet MyLink infotainment unit. It is equipped with Bluetooth, Aux, and USB connectivity. As for audio, there is a 6-speaker audio system. The infotainment unit is pretty good, but not the most intuitive or responsive one in the segment. The same is the case with the sub-par quality audio system also. However, the higher trims feature a Boston Acoustics premium sound system which is much better than the base one. The Camaro is also offered with SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Few key infotainment features include-
The 2015 Chevy Camaro is a sharp-looking machine with impressive looks with a blade-cut design language. The Camaro has a long and sleek grille with headlamps integrated into each side of it. The rear end, however, looks a bit boring and the tail lamps look like they are from a budget sedan. The Camaro features 18-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels which look muscular.

All these machines are beautiful and each has its own character and exterior beauty. The Subaru BRZ is the lightest one here and also has the smallest footprint and dimensions. The Challenger which is the most spacious also happens to be the heaviest and has larger dimensions. The Mustang offers the most ground clearance while the Chevy has the least clearance. The following are the prominent exterior features of the 2015 Chevy Camaro-
The 2015 Chevy Camaro has been crash-tested by NHTSA and got an overall safety rating of 5-stars which is impressive. Not just that, under individual testing parameters, the Camaro scored solid 5-star ratings for all the tests conducted including in the rollover protection test. IIHS however, has not tested the Camaro, but the outstanding scores from NHTSA are enough to conclude that the Camaro is a super safe machine. The Camaro is equipped with a set of high-tech safety features which includes the following-
The Ford Mustang with the stronger EcoBoost engine compared to its base V6 is a powerful option and performs similarly to the Camaro in terms of power output. The Mustang is slightly faster than the Camaro and offers a much better fuel economy. It also offers a slightly better interior space and is the overall better choice.
The Dodge Challenger offers the most spacious interior along with the most comfortable seating and is the largest one here. It also provides better fuel economy compared to the Camaro while the Camaro is more powerful, faster, and handles much better. Overall, this means that a choice has to be made according to your needs and preferences.
The Subaru BRZ is no match to the Camaro in terms of power output or interior space. The Subaru is lighter, more efficient and has slightly better handling compared to the Camaro. But the Camaro is more responsive, faster, and has a serious edge over the Subaru in drivability. That makes the Camaro a better choice.
The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro is a great car offered at an impressive price point. It’s got very good looks, a nicely built interior, and an engine that is powerful and responsive. The handling is also engaging and the Camaro is fun to drive. The interior is spacious enough for two while the cargo area is not as spacious as rivals. However, the fuel economy of the Camaro is truly disappointing and this is the main con of this vehicle. Overall it is an amazing car that has no respect for mpg figures.
