Overall Rating
Honda had proven just how capable a small hatchback they could make with the first-generation Honda Fit. After being on a brief hiatus for 2014, Honda has now introduced the brand-new and redesigned Honda Fit for the 2015 model year.
The 2015 Honda Fit has been revamped from the ground up with a newer 130 hp 1.5L I-4 engine, refined interior, and enhanced exterior appeal. Hitting the market space with a price starting from $16,485, this hatchback returns an impressive fuel economy of over 30 MPG effortlessly. The 2015 model year also welcomes a redefined 7-speed automatic transmission alongside.
Available for sale, the Honda Fit makes its presence felt in 3 trims of LX, EX, EX-L, each being configured either with manual or automatic transmission. Owning a cargo space of up to 52.7 cu-ft, it seems to be generous for its segment. However, it does face stiff competition from the likes of the Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, and Nissan Versa Note.
The Honda Fit is available in a wide range of trims, but you won’t find anything as an optional extra. For this reason, one has to buy a well-equipped version of the car to make sure that they do not miss out on features. This means that the LX trim, no matter how cheap is, comes as a compromise. We recommend the EX trim as it comes with standard features like 16-inch alloy wheels, sunroof, keyless ignition and entry, 7-inch touchscreen interface, smartphone integration, six-speaker audio system, Honda Lane Watch, and so on.

The car is not at all bare-bones even if you opt for the base trim as it comes with 15-inch wheels, automatic headlights, a height-adjustable driver seat, a rearview camera, a 5-inch display screen, and a four-speaker sound system. The base sticker price of the hatchback is $15,650 and goes up to $21,265 for the high-end EX-L with Navigation trim.

There is only one engine offered on the Honda Fit, and that is a 1.5 L four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 130 hp and 114 pound-feet of torque.
The transmission which comes as standard is a six-speed manual, whereas the CVT transmission is available as an option on all trims. The EX-L variant does not offer the manual. There is only a front-wheel-drive available. The hatchback reaches the 60 mph mark in 8.8 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 16.0 seconds.

The Honda Fit has the most powerful engine in its class. Even though it is up only by a few horsepower compared to its rivals, it translates better than we expected to real-world performance, as the car is much faster during 0 to 60 mph and for quarter-mile timings. The Toyota Yaris is the slowest car in the segment, whereas both Nissan and Ford have performance that is pretty much on par with each other.
Fuel efficiency is an area that faces hot-headed competition in the subcompact segment. Honda provides a very small gas tank of 10.6 gallons and yet returns a decent range. That is how fuel-efficient the engine is. It returns 29 MPG in the city, 36 on the highway, and 32 MPG combined.

All the hatchbacks fall in a similar category when it comes to the combined mileage. They represent some of the most fuel-efficient cars that money can buy. The most efficient car in the class is the Nissan Versa Note but Fiesta offers a longerrange due to their larger fuel tank of 12.4 gallons. Although the Fit is the most powerful, it is also decently fuel-efficient.
The interior of the Honda Fit is thoroughly redesigned for the 2015 model year. It is now more spacious than ever, with rear-seat legroom being more generous than the Honda Accord.
It also uses much more premium materials and has an excellent design. The car also has above-average cargo space, thanks to its magic seat that can flip down and create a huge cargo area measuring 52.7 ft.³.

One can easily observe that the interior space offered in the Honda Fit is way more generous than its rivals, especially in the back. It also offers the latest technology and has excellent build quality throughout. The cargo space is unrivaled and is the reason for the car being very practical. The main interior features of the 2015 Honda Fit include:
Honda has not only improved the interiors but the in-car entertainment too. The base trims now come with a standard 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the higher trims are offered a 7-inch touchscreen system that has a lot of functions.
It has improved a lot in terms of smartphone connectivity as well, although this applies only to iPhones. The system is very responsive and quick and is also pretty functional. Some of the standout infotainment features include:
The Honda Fit has not been a car that was extremely pleasing to look at in its last generation. Although the quirky design had its fans, it was not well-received by the majority.
That has somewhat changed with the futuristic design language that Honda has implemented in the new Fit. The car is of modest dimensions and remains very maneuverable in the city.

The Ford Fiesta Hatchback is the heaviest of the lot, followed by the Honda Fit standing at just a difference of 24 lbs. The Nissan Versa Note is one of the largest cars in the segment, but the Honda Fit is the longest as well as the one having the greatest ground clearance. When it comes to the wheelbase, all the hatchbacks are similarly specced. Major exterior highlights of the hatchback include-
The Honda Fit has not cut any corners in terms of safety features, which were updated for this model year as well. The IIHS has given it a rating of ‘Good,’ while the NHTSA has awarded it five stars, which makes it a very safe car. It also has been loaded in terms of safety features right from the base trim. The Honda hatchback comes with a variety of safety features like-
