The Kia Soul Wagon features two engine options, a 1.6L I-4 engine, and a 2.0L I-4 engine. The 2.0L engine produces 184hp of engine power and 161lb.-ft of torque. While there is a choice for an engine option, the Soul Wagon comes standard with a 6-speed transmission and as a front-wheel-drivetrain.

While the performance figures for the Soul wagon are not known, the engine feels adequate but manages subpar ride quality only.

In the segment, all cars are channeled as 6-speed-automatic transmission and as front-wheel-drivetrain only. The Scion xB uses a similar 2.0L engine that produces 158hp and 162lb.-ft of torque. The smaller engine Hyundai Veloster manages only 120 hp and 132lb.-ft with its 1.6L I-4 engine.

For a car that divides buyers because of its idiosyncratic looks, its fuel efficiency will sway fence-sitters in its favor. The Kia Soul manages an average mileage of 23 MPG in the city and that of 31 MPG on the highway. Combined, the Kia Soul Wagon manages 26 miles per gallon of fuel.

The interior quality on the feels impeccable for a car of its size and segment. The cabin features infotainment that sits centrally and seamlessly merges with the dashboard. There is ample storage space on offer, and the instrument cluster feels upmarket. Inside the cabin, the cloth seats feel comfortable and opulent.

Statistically, the Soul wagon has a total head-, shoulder- and legroom of 40/55.8/40.7 inches in the front and 41.2/54.7/38 inches at the back.

As standard, all cars in the segmented seat 5 passengers. In overall dimensions, the Kia and Scion are similar in dimensions. The Veloster is relatively smaller in size. The similarity between the Kia and Scion extends to their cargo capacity as well, at 69.9 cubic feet. The Hyundai Veloster lags considerably behind at 34.7 cubic feet. How intuitive is the Kia Soul Wagon’s infotainment system?

The infotainment system on the Kia Soul Wagon feels easy to use. The base trim of the Kia features Bluetooth-connectivity and hands-free mode, a 6-speaker sound system, and SiriusXM.

The new Kia Soul is safe and reliable. Its 4-star rating in rollover crash tests and a 5-star rating in the front and side crash tests are evidence of the fact. As standard the Kia gets driver and passenger airbags, and also gets airbags for the rear seat passengers.

However, we would recommend buying the Kia Soul Wagon because of its extensive list of features at a price tag just under the shade of $20000.
