Overall Rating
The Nissan Juke is a car that feels odd in many respects. On one hand, it has good performance and handling, yet it fails to make its mark as a driver’s car.
The Nissan Juke is a car that feels odd in many respects. On one hand, it has good performance and handling, yet it fails to make its mark as a driver’s car. Design is quirky at best and downright ugly at worst. A lack of cargo capacity and cheap trim despite being priced heavily at an MSRP of $20,250 makes it a less than compelling buy in the segment.
There is a lot to choose from since the Nissan Juke is available in a wide variety of variants with prices ranging from $20,000 - $25,000. However, we have felt that the SV trim with all-wheel drive is the car that most people will need. It offers features like a sunroof, rear privacy glass, automatic climate control, upgraded upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, satellite radio as well as driver-configurable settings for throttle, steering, and transmission. This makes for an excellent pick as the car can adapt very well to the driver.

There is only one engine offered with the Nissan Juke, and that is a 1.6L turbocharged engine that produces 188 hp. This is a very powerful engine and is enough to make any driver smile every time he or she hits the throttle.
This engine is paired to a CVT transmission as standard. It also has front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants across all trim levels. The car touches the 60 mph mark in 7.3 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 15.4 seconds.

At the price point, the Juke is offered at, it promises excellent performance at quite a bargain. No other car in its category comes close in terms of outright performance both on paper as well as on the road. It is the fastest to 60 mph in just 7.3 seconds, which is very light in a car this small and maintains that acceleration for a long while, running a quarter-mile in just 15.4 seconds. The car tops out at 135 mph, which again is the best in the segment.
Although one would expect the most powerful engine in the class to be the least fuel-efficient, the Juke comes as a surprise in this aspect. It has excellent figures at 26 MPG in the city, 31 MPG on the highway, and 28 MPG in the combined cycle. It has a very modest fuel tank capacity of 12.5 gallons, but due to its excellent efficiency, this results in 325 miles of city range and 425 miles on the highway.

In comparison, the Fiat 500L falls back in terms of fuel efficiency and is probably the only car that can be termed as not so fuel-efficient in this category. All cars have very modest fuel tank capacities but compensate the overall range with their excellent efficiencies. The Mazda is the most fuel-efficient one of the lot, returning about 31 MPG combined, which is an absolutely mind-blowing figure.
The interior of the Nissan Juke is designed to be as in the face as its exterior is. It has a lot of curving surfaces but the cabin remains airy and has a lot of metal and white accents that add a touch of elegance.
The controls in the cabin are also very ergonomic and easy to operate. It is also filled with lots of storage compartments. The seats are also comfortable and bolsters are supportive. The 2015 Nissan Juke comes with a cargo capacity of 10.5 cubic feet behind the third-row seats, which can be enhanced by folding down the second row whenever needed.

All the cars in the category offer space for five people, but none is generous in terms of interior space. The Juke feels very small and cramped even next to its tiny competitors. The Juke also has the lowest cargo space at just 10.5 ft.³ of storage and 35.9 ft.³ of storage with its second row of seats folded. Some of its interior features include:

The exterior design of the Nissan Juke is an area where beauty truly lies in the eyes of the beholder. Opinions about the car’s exteriors are split into two camps, with many people feeling that it is a very ugly design, while some are really accepting of its quirky looks.
We feel that it is a badly executed design that has failed to make its mark so far.

The Nissan Juke is a car that is tiny in all respects. It measures only 162.4 inches in length, 69.5 inches in width, and 61.8 inches in height, which makes it smaller than most of its competitors. However, it provides 6.6 inches of ground clearance, which is very decent for most applications. It is also not a very heavy car at just 3,184 pounds. Some standout exterior features include:
In the NHTSA crash test, the Nissan Juke has scored four out of five stars which is quite decent. And in the IIHS crash test, the car scored a ‘Good’ rating, which is also the highest possible. Standard safety features on the 2015 model include antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front and side curtain, active head restraints, rearview camera, and so on. Some standout safety features include:
The 2015 Nissan Juke is a car that is best described as quirky. While it appears to the taste of many people, it is also equally hated by many. It is not a traditional car by any means, but it is hard to ignore how well equipped the car is and the amount of sheer performance it packs in a very small package. Overall, everything boils down to whether you like the design of it or now, and if you do, then this car is for you.
