  • Spacious Interior
  • Capable powertrain

Cons

The Nissan Quest for 2015 comes with many improvements, including slightly better fuel efficiency. It comes in four trim lines, and all trims use the same 3.5 L V6 engine that delivers good performance.

Overview

The Nissan Quest for 2015 comes with many improvements, including slightly better fuel efficiency. It comes in four trim lines, and all trims use the same 3.5 L V6 engine that delivers good performance. The interior is luxurious, and the feature set is really extensive, making the minivan well-equipped. The Quest provides plenty of space in the first and second row, and even the third row provides enough space.

Pricing and Features
6.0/10

The 2015 Nissan Quest starts at $26,530 for the base S trim. The LX trim starts at $30,280, followed by the SL trim costing $34,060. The top-end Platinum trim starts at $43,180. The engine under the hood as standard is a 3.5L V6 which churns out 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque.

Engine and Performance
6.8/10

The 2015 Nissan Quest comes equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that puts out a maximum power of 260 hp and a maximum torque of 248 lb-ft. The engine's power is transferred to the front wheels through a CVT transmission. The Quest reaches 60 mph in 7.8 seconds and crosses the quarter-mile mark in 16.1 seconds, which are pretty good numbers considering the size and segment. The acceleration is pretty strong, and the CVT transmission is efficient, smooth, and performs well.

In comparison, Chrysler Town and Country is the fastest of the lot as it launches to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds and crosses the quarter-mile mark in 16 seconds. Nissan and Honda follow with a timing of 7.8 and 7.9 seconds to reach 60mph and an identical 16.1 seconds to complete a quarter-mile dash. The performance and the acceleration sprint numbers are very similar among the rivals.

Fuel Economy
6.0/10

In the minivan segment, the Quest doesn’t deliver any mind-blowing numbers in terms of fuel efficiency, but it does provide a comparatively higher fuel economy as it had some minor updates and tweaking to increase fuel-economy this year. The Nissan Quest delivers a fuel-efficiency of 20 mpg in the city, 27 on the highway, and 22 mpg of combined fuel economy. The Quest gets a 20.0-gallon of fuel tank capacity, outputting a range of 400 miles in the city, 540 on the highway, and a combined range of 440 miles.

Interior
7.8/10

The 2015 Quest provides a spacious interior with a spacious first, second, and third row of seats. The materials inside the cabin are of good quality.

The buttons and center console are placed nicely and at reach, while the cabin overall looks and feels premium. The cabin features dual-zone climate control, and the seats are covered in cloth in the lower trims, whereas in the higher trims, the upholstery is leather-trimmed.

When it comes to second-row space, Honda has significantly more than the Chrysler and Nissan, and in the third row, the Nissan has lower legroom than the Odyssey, while the Chrysler has the least. The Odyssey’s EX-L trim provides a drastically increased 42.4 inches of legroom in the third row, which officially makes it the most spacious third row. When it comes to cargo capacity, the Honda again has the most of 38.4 cu-ft, followed by the Nissan Quest with 37.1 cu-ft and the Town and Country with 33.0 cu-ft of the cargo area. Major interior features include-

  • 8-way power driver’s seat with center armrest

How intuitive is the 2015 Nissan Quest’s infotainment unit?

The 2015 Nissan Quest features an AM/FM/CD audio system in the base S trim, whereas the SV and SL trims feature a Premium AM/FM/CD audio system with a 5" color display. The high-end Platinum trim comes with an 8-inch color touch-screen monitor and voice recognition. It is equipped with Bluetooth, Aux, and USB Connectivity along with satellite radio.

As for audio, there are four speakers in the S trim, while the SV and SL trims feature 6 speakers. The top-end Platinum trim is equipped with a Bose premium audio system with 13 speakers setup. The higher-end audio system sounds great. Few key infotainment features of the minivan are-

  • Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System with 8" color touch-screen monitor and Voice Recognition
  • NavTraffic and NavWeather provided by SiriusXM
  • Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System
  • Bluetooth Connectivity
  • USB Connectivity
  • Aux Input
  • Bose Premium audio unit with 13 speakers

Exterior
8.0/10

The Quest looks unique with a district styling. It might be appealing to some eyes while others might hate it. There is a sort of symmetrical weirdness to the whole exterior of the Quest.

The front end looks moderately beautiful with a horizontally lined chrome grille with headlamps integrated into the sides of it. The side profile features 18" aluminum alloy wheels, while the rear end has a similar design language to the front portion.

The Quest has the best ground clearance of 6.6 inches, while the Town and Country and the Honda have 5.6 and 4.5 inches of clearance, respectively. The Honda is the widest in the competition, while the Nissan is the highest. Major exterior highlights of the minivan are-

  • 18" aluminum-alloy wheels
  • Smart Auto Headlights
  • High-Intensity Discharge (HID) xenon headlights
  • Fog lights
  • One-touch power sliding doors
  • Dual opening glass moonroof
  • Heated, power outside mirrors with turn signal indicators

Safety
7.8/10

The new Nissan Quest comes equipped with many standard safety features for keeping itself and its numerous passengers safe, including ABS, Nissan advanced airbag System with dual-stage supplemental front airbags, seat belt sensors and occupant classification sensor, driver and front-passenger seat-mounted side-impact supplemental airbags, and more. NHTSA has not crash-tested the 2015 Quest, while IIHS gives it a ‘Good’ for moderate front and side overlap and for roof strength. These safety scores are quite good. The 2015 Nissan Quest stops from 60 mph at a distance of 125 ft, which is also above average. Few salient safety features of the Quest are-

  • Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS)
  • Blind Spot Warning (BSW)
  • Moving Object Detection (MOD)
  • Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones and hood-buckling creases
  • Energy-absorbing steering column
  • High-strength steel side-door guard beams
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with Easy-Fill Tire Alert
  • Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System
  • Vehicle Security System

Final Verdict

The 2015 Nissan Quest is a good option in the segment, but certainly not the best. It does offer a capable powertrain along with a great feature set and a spacious and luxurious interior. But many of its rivals provide all of these and much more for the same price. So the Quest even while being a great minivan is overshadowed by its better-performing rivals.
