We would suggest you the Premier Plus trim with the AWD to have a complete experience of a luxury wagon. If you seek a fin-to-drive nature along with the practicality of a wagon then the T6 trims with the I-6 motor is your poison.

Volvo is one of the most successful Swedish car manufacturers and rose to fame gradually with its extremely durable and comfortable vehicles. The V60 wagon is the estate version of the brand’s S60 sedan and was launched back in 2010.
The Volvo V60 wagon is available in a total of six trim levels and three engine options. The engine options include a base 2.0-liter I-4 motor, a 2.5-liter I-5 motor, and a 3.0-liter I-6 motor that is offered in the performance-oriented T6 R-Design trim. The FWD models get the basic four-cylinder engine while the AWD models get the more powerful five-cylinder engine for better performance. All the trims are offered in both FWD and AWD layouts. The trim levels start with the base T5 at a price of $35,300 for the FWD layout. It is decently equipped with some features such as automatic headlights, LED running lights, automatic wipers, heated mirrors, a sunroof, front and rear foglights, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, "T-Tec" fabric upholstery, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and an eight-way power front seats with driver memory functions. The Premier and Premier Plus packages offer some premium features such as roof rails, keyless ignition and entry, leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-folding mirrors, a rearview camera, a fold-flat front passenger seat, and a pop-up cargo area organizer. The Platinum package completes the factory-fitted features list with auto-dimming outside mirrors, interior accent lighting, a navigation system, and a 12-speaker surround-sound audio system.

We would suggest you the Premier Plus trim with the AWD to have a complete experience of a luxury wagon. If you seek a fin-to-drive nature along with the practicality of a wagon then the T6 trims with the I-6 motor is your poison.
The base engine of the Volvo V60 is a turbocharged 2.0liter straight-four motor, tuned to crank out a maximum of 240 horsepower and 258lb-ft of maximum torque. For day-to-day usage and relaxed highway cruising, the motor is more than adequate and when combined with the agile handling of the wagon, it can be a fun-to-drive vehicle too.
The base motor also comes with a Drive-E technology with an over-boost mode where the turbocharger can boost the torque to 280lb-ft for a short period of about 10 seconds. This results in a quick acceleration time of 6.1-seconds to complete the 0-60mph run. The standard 8-speed automatic transmission is fantastic with smooth and seamless shifts. The start-stop system is now offered as standard to maximize fuel efficiency and in urban traffic, you would hardly percept the motor shutting off and restarting while driving off from a red-light.

The Audi Allroad wagon has a powertrain of similar displacement to the V60 and has equal torque output but a lesser horsepower output by 20hp. The Subaru Outback has makes use of a big 3.6liter flat-6 motor to deliver the maximum horsepower among the three on the list but much lower torque output.
The FWD variant of the V60 wagon is quite fuel-efficient since it takes advantage of the start-stop system. The city mileage is rated at 25mpg while the highway mileage is rated at a whopping 37mpg. The combined mileage is rated at 29mpg.

The Audi Allroad has much lesser mileage ratings which is a bit disappointing since it doesn’t offer more power or torque output than the V60. The Subaru Outback has the least mileage figures owing to its big powertrain and its configuration.
The Volvo V60 offers an excellent interior with a serene atmosphere owing to its extremely well-contained NVH levels. The experience is further enhanced by the superb ride-quality of the wagon. The cabin is laid out with premium quality materials throughout and has a distinct high-tech feeling to it. The floating-style center console looks attractive and the controls are placed well within the reach of the driver. The front seats are excellent in terms of comfort and support but the rear seats might feel a bit tight for adults for a long duration. Folding the rear seatbacks will open up a generous 43.8 cubic feet of cargo space and the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats along with the fold-flat front passenger seat allow to make use of all the available space.

The Audi Allroad has an equally comfortable and spacious cabin with a better rear-seat space than the V60. The Subaru Outback also has a roomy and comfortable interior with spacious seating arrangements but it lacks the premium treatment found on the Allroad and the V60.
The infotainment system comes in a decently equipped form to keep all the occupants entertained. The standard features include Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and an eight-speaker audio system with a CD player, satellite and HD radios, an auxiliary audio jack, and a USB/iPod interface. The Platinum trim offers a navigation system and a 12-speaker surround-sound audio system. A mid-cycle refresh sees the inclusion of two standard features, Sensus Connect, and the On-Call system. Sensus Connect comes with newer graphics for the center touchscreen, improved voice commands, and in-car apps including Yelp and Pandora. On-Call further adds in-car WiFi hotspot, emergency roadside assistance, and automatic crash notification.
Infotainment system features of the wagon are:
The Volvo V60 looks like a big sedan, which is obvious since it is based on the S60 sedan. The front end looks mildly aggressive with an appealing front grille design flanked nicely by a pair of sleek headlamp units.
The hood has some sculpted lines and the side profile looks smooth, giving a feeling of a premium wagon. The rear end looks quite distinctive with a unique taillight design and a blacked-out panel resting in between the rear windshield and the license plate space carrying the brand’s lettering.

The Audi Allroad has a more aggressive front end design and looks like a proper wagon. The Subaru Outback feels like a hybrid of a sedan and a crossover, giving a rugged appeal with the black plastic cladding on the lower body.
The V60 lives up to its brand’s reputation of building extremely safe vehicles with excellent safety scores and a long list of advanced safety features. The IIHS gave it a perfect “Good” rating while the NHTSA has not rated it yet. The safety features include antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, and Volvo's City Safe system that automatically applies the brakes at speeds up to 31 mph to mitigate a frontal collision. Other additional features include additional frontal collision warning with full auto-braking, lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert, and a driver inattention warning system.
The standard safety features of the wagon are:
The all-new Volvo V60 is here to take away a chunky share of the wagon segment currently dominated by the German brands and the Japanese brands. The V60 has a lot of positive features going for it and even appeals to the enthusiasts with a performance-oriented T6 R-Design trim with an I-6 motor producing over 300 horsepower. Overall, the wagon is all set to give you a truly luxurious experience at the right price.
