2016 Chevrolet Tahoe Review

Pros

  • Strong Engine
  • Quiet Ride
  • Impressive Interior Quality

Cons

  • Cramped Third Row Seat
  • No telescopic steering for the base trim
  • High Cargo Floor and low cargo space

The Chevy Tahoe comes with the same 5.7 L V6 engine that was introduced last year, and for 2016, there is no difference in power figures or performance as it outputs the same 355 hp of max power and 383 lb-ft of max torque. The Tahoe is still available in three trim lines with AWD as an option in all trims at an added cost

Overview

The Chevrolet Tahoe combines working truck technology with comfort, convenience, and luxury. The Tahoe is an impressive full-size SUV that can seat up to nine, tow your boat, and handle off-road duties easily. The 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe looks similar o the 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 truck. The prices of the 2016 Tahoe starts from $47,000 for the base LS and goes up to $64,740 for the LTZ. Chevrolet offers just a single drivetrain, GM's 5.3-liter V-8 coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe comes with minor changes this year after a fully redesigned Tahoe for the 2015 model. For 2016, Tahoe gains an 8-inch infotainment unit as standard in all trims, which earlier was an available option. The Three-row SUV also gains more functionality than Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also new safety tech incorporated into the Chevy Tahoe this year. It still competes with the Ford Expedition and the Toyota Sequoia.

Pricing and Features
7.0/10

The 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe starts at $47,000 for the base LS trim with a 5.3L V8 engine outputting 355 hp and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. The 4WD option can be added at $3,000 extra. The LS trim comes with all the space and luxury, while the next in line LT trim starts at $52,030. The high-end LTZ trim costs $61,740 and upwards according to the features and drivetrain you choose.

Interior
8.0/10

The 2016 Tahoe provides good amounts of space on the inside. The first and second rows are luxurious, while the third one is practically useless for adults. The cabin features tri-zone automatic climate control to keep the occupants comfortable inside. The seats are covered in leather and so is the steering wheel. The front and second-row seats are spacious and comfortable with enough support, whereas the third row is super cramped and provides an awkward seating position for adults.
