Overall Rating
Long drives are something that is bound to become particularly amazing for buyers of the A7. All this luxury doesn’t come cheap at with the base trim sporting a $68,800 price tag. Even at such a steep price, the car offers ridiculous value for money.
The Audi A7 is a unique car in the car manufacturer's portfolio. It sports a one of a kind floating fastback roofline that makes it look like a hatchback from the rear. Its uniqueness is what truly gives it a distinct and beautiful look. The Audi A7 is now back in its 2017 guise and sports more features than ever.
Being an Audi, some signature features like the Quattro all-wheel-drive system and virtual cockpit are already present in the car. Since the car is branded as a grand tourer by Audi, the interior and comfort are of utmost quality, and there is no compromise in the particular department.
The base trim on the Audi A7 is probably the most value for money option. The standard list of features includes a lot of advanced creature comfort features and safety features. Since the engine and performance on all trims is identical, the premium plus trim is the one that makes the most sense to us.

The base trim on the Audi A7 is probably the most value for money option. The standard list of features includes a lot of advanced creature comfort features and safety features. Since the engine and performance on all trims is identical, the premium plus trim is the one that makes the most sense to us.
The engine on theAudi A7 is a 3.0L TFSI supercharged V6 that is paired with an 8-speed auto transmission. The motor produces a considerable 333 hp and 325 lb-ft torque. This is not a sports car figure by any means, but it still is generously powered for a GT. The power is adequate to never make it feel as if the engine is underpowered. The Audi A7 is certainly not the most powerful car in the segment. Genesis G90 is the one that takes the crown in terms of power at 365 hp. Second, in line is theCadillac CT6, followed by the BMW 440i.

All the cars in the segment offer All-Wheel Drive starting from the Audi A7 to the BMW 4 Series. It is just the Genesis G90 that feels left out and could not compete with its rivals because of its Rear Wheel Drive layout. However, the Genesis comes with the most powerful engine in the segment churning out a massive 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque.
Acceleration is not exactly a forte of the 2017 A7 but it still sports one of the better 0-60 mph figures of 5.2 seconds. As soon as the pedal is pushed, the car squats from the back and then leaps forward like a big cat. The acceleration looks dramatic from the outside but it is as comfy as it gets from the inside.
The Audi A7 is second to only theBMW 440i sedan which completes a 0-60 mph sprint in 4.3 seconds to become the segment leader in terms of off the line performance. Only 2/10th of a second slower than the Audi is the Genesis G90 at 5.4 sec followed by the Cadillac CT6 at 6.4 seconds at the bottom end.

In the quarter-mile segment, the Cadillac CT6 makes sure no other competition could snatch its sweet spot of completing a quarter-mile in just 13.0 secs flat. The BMW 4 Series gives it a tough competition and holds the second position. While each of the cars is equally good in achieving a higher top speed it is the Audi A7 and theGenesis G90 that jointly take the initial position for the highest top speed in the segment.
The ride and handling on the Audi A7 are composed and relaxed most of the time. The considerable weight of the car does make it feel as if it is floating on the road but it always manages to be under the driver's control. Potholes and rough patches of road feel non-existent due to the superior quality air suspension. However, a little sporty element is what should've been imbibed in the car. The car has very synthetic feedback which compromises the overall precision of the car especially while cornering.
The Audi A7 features big and beefy 14.0-inch brake rotors in the front and 13.0-inch rotors in the rear. Even the hefty 4,244 lbs of curb weight of the car doesn't stop it from achieving one of the better braking stats in the segment by completing a 0-60 mph halt in under 117 feet. The leader in this segment is the BMW 440i sedan at 114 feet. The Cadillac CT6 stands identical to the Audi A7, while the Genesis G90 becomes the gatekeeper at 120 feet.

The car with the highest curb weight is the Genesis G90. It is quite evident as it is much longer compared to its rivals. The Audi A7 is comparatively lighter than the Genesis but it is not the lightest in the segment. However, the BMW is not the lightest but it does an incredible job in the braking performance and gives the car a complete halt in just 114 ft.
The importance of fuel economy has risen phenomenally over the years. The Audi A7, however, is certainly not the most fuel-efficient of the vehicles available in the market as of now. The car offers a fuel economy of 24 mpg combined. The situation with the rivals is even worse than on the A7. The BMW 440i returns the same mileage as the A7, while both the Genesis and Cadillac fall behind in fuel efficiency.

When being compared it can be observed that the BMW 4 Series is the most fuel-efficient in the segment. It delivers an efficiency of 21 mpg on the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined which no other rivals could achieve. The Genesis is quite a fuel burner and for that reason, it is equipped with a larger fuel tank of 21.9 gallons which happens to be the highest in the segment.
There is comfortable seating for four on the Audi A7. The front seats are marvelously comfortable and an ergonomic delight. Taller folks might face an issue due to the compromised headroom, courtesy of the dipping roofline. The case on the rear, however, becomes even more worrisome as the legroom and the headroom are both compromised especially when compared to the rivals.
Both the Cadillac CT6 and Genesis G90 sport almost identical front legroom figures and lead the segment. The rear legroom segment is led by the BMW 440i, which zooms far ahead of the rivals at 44.4 inches of legroom.

Both the Audi A7 and the Cadillac CT6 are cars having a seating capacity of 4 persons in total, while the Genesis G90 and the BMW 4 Series have the additional advantage of having a space for an extra passenger which is very much useful in case you are using it for a family car. Key interior features on the Audi A7 include-
The infotainment system includes an 8-inch dashtop display that is controlled via the handwriting gesture pad. Sadly, there is no virtual cockpit available, but there is a 7-inch info display that is also controlled through the same gesture pad.
The system is fast in recognizing inputs and responding to them but it still feels outdated especially when compared to the rivals which focus more on digitizing the analog features. Some of the available infotainment features present on the 2017 Audi A7 Sedan are as follows:
Owing to its hatchback-inspired style, there are copious amounts of space available in the boot of the Audi A7. The generous 24.5 cu-ft of cargo space is something that'll make airport runs easy and will also complement the GT natured car. The Audi A7 leads the cargo capacity segment by leaps and bounds. The 2nd in line is the BMW 440i sedan at 18.2 cu-ft. Both Genesis G90 and Cadillac CT6 can't even be compared to the big boys.

The Audi A7 is one of the finer looking vehicles from the outside. The car sports a unique fastback look with a sloping roofline that gives it a truly one of a kind appearance. However, it's not even close to the exterior dimension of the rivals with a length of 114.7 inches and a width of 196 inches.
The BMW 440i is the longest and widest vehicle in the segment, followed by the Genesis G90, and then at last by the Cadillac CT6 sedan.

The car with the largest wheelbase and curb weight is the Genesis G90. Design-wise, it's pretty lengthy too, but the BMW 440i beats the Genesis to be the longest car in the segment in terms of overall length. The Audi A7 is a feature-packed car. Some of the exterior features of the 2017 Audi A7 Sedan are:
Although the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety(IIHS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA) have not crash-tested the Audi A7 Sedan, you can expect no compromise on safety. Audi has packed a lot of life-saving techs such as automatic emergency braking both on the rear and front, a set of 8 airbags, and much more as standard on all A7. Some of the important safety features available on this car include:
The Genesis G90 is also a fine-looking sedan just like the Audi A7. But, it is more a luxury sedan than a grand tourer. The interior quality is unmatched, and when it comes to the feature department, the Genesis G90 is actually better than the Audi with up to date features, unlike the Audi. However, the car does struggle due to lethargic acceleration, and the engine sort of feels underpowered. Given the little price difference, the Audi A7 is definitely the better one.
The Cadillac CT6 undercuts the Audi A7 by almost $10,000 and for good reason. Although the car features a robust and everlasting exterior, it is no match for the stylish Audi A7. Both of the cars are similarly powerful, but it's the Audi that feels much better during the long drives. If the budget isn't an issue, the Audi A7 certainly takes the crown in a comparison between these two cars.
The BMW 440i is a competent grand tourer that is great on long swaths of roads. The chassis is brilliantly designed and provides the right amount of difference to strike the right balance of comfort and sportiness. The interior is pretty straightforward in complete BMW fashion, but it still boasts of a number of creature comforts and clever technologies indigenous to it.
The Audi, however, is still much more dapper to look at both from the inside and outside. Given the price difference, the BMW just might be a little more value for money but it all depends on the buyer's preferences.
The Audi A7 is without a doubt one of the best looking vehicles of the year. The sloping roofline at the rear end lends it an amazing look. When it comes to driving, there isn't anything particularly notable but it doesn't require anything to do what it is best at, munching miles on the highway with clean and straight roads. All in all, if you're looking for a vehicle that you can be on the road with for a long time, the Audi A7 is as good as it gets.
