Some cars are made practical, some are luxurious, while other plebeian cars just get the work done. However, there is a rare breed that offers Seaksperian styling clubbed with a perpetual power, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is one such car. It's the epitome of American Musclemania combined with sportscar traits, its stealth handling is the reason why people invest in the supercar market in the first place.
We recommend the 2LZ trim as it has all the features including power lumbar adjustments and a premium Bose audio system and isn’t very much more expensive than the base trim. The 3LZ, even though it has some extra features, doesn’t justify the price.

Starting at a base price of $79,450, the Corvette is offered in three trim levels. The 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ all share a monochromic 6.2L Supercharged V8 engine mated to 7speed automatic transmission. The engine cranks out 650 horsepower and 650-pound feet of torque.
The Corvette did not forget its muscle car roots and proudly wears the Made in America badge. Similar to other muscle cars, Chevy opens a menu of options to personalize the Corvette. While a lot of these choices are broken into standalone features, Chevrolet has broadly standardized three trims for Vette 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ. Each trim unlocks a galore of features with each taking things one step up.

We recommend the 2LZ trim as it has all the features including power lumbar adjustments and a premium Bose audio system and isn’t very much more expensive than the base trim. The 3LZ, even though it has some extra features, doesn’t justify the price.
The legendary Corvette is first known for its raw power and the Z06 protects the Vette name perfectly. It hides a peppy 6.2L V8 engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and the sound of it is enough to please any purist's heart. The power plant can muster a menacing 650 horsepower and 650-pound feet of torque.
The power remains unmatched and the rivals still struggle to match the impeccable performance which is where Chevy capitalizes. Hard revving this all-American beast is a drug on its own and all hell breaks loose when you find a freeway, that's the experience the Z06 is ready to deliver.

The Vette along with its sibling the Camaro leads the chart with 650 hp and lb-ft. The GTR comes in next with 565 hp and 467 lb-ft. The Shelby GT350 comes in after that with 526 hp and 429 lb-ft. The Z06 and the Shelby both come in a manual transmission option while others stick to automatics.
The Vette's tire melting power is put on display with its solid acceleration. Mat the pedal and see the Corvette shoot through the boulevard like a fighter jet. The Z06 takes a little more than 3 seconds to hit the 60 mph mark. It takes 11 seconds to hit the quarter-mile light which is better than any other car in the lot.

The GTR is the fastest to reach 60mph at 2.9 followed by the Corvette achieving the same feat at 3.3 seconds. The Camaro takes 3.5 seconds followed by the Ford taking 5.4 seconds. When it comes to quarter-mile speeds the Corvette is the fastest at 10.9 seconds followed by the Chevy at 11.4 and the Nissan at 11.5 seconds while the Shelby takes 12.2 seconds.
The Corvette's handling is superb and compliments the Z06's power. The razor-sharp steering is the main attraction of the Corvette's drivability which morphs with different driving modes of the car. The entire interior cockpit is kept driver-centric with minimal distractions. At high speeds, the steering feels tight on high speeds.
The power surge remains linear which gives it a decent start while accelerating. Around the corner the Z06 feels planted, you will have a decent idea of what the car is doing underneath. Hence, you have a fair share of predictability with this supercar. There is nobody to roll or lapse in its drivability maintaining the Vette's image.
There might be a few glitches on the Corvette here and there, though Chey was hell-bent on getting braking right and we are glad they did. They installed bigger brakes than the Stingray which is smart to counter the extra horses. Compared to the competition the Z06 is lighter and stops under 100 feet in the panic brake test which is a big deal for a car of this stature.

The GTR gets 15.35-inch rotors in the front and 15-inch ones in the rear. The Shelby gets 15.5-inch rotors in the front and 14.9-inch ones in the rear. The Corvette gets comparatively smaller 14.6 and 14.4-inch ones in the front and rear respectively.
With the supercar names comes a huge bill to maintain its appetite and Corvette comes with the same bug. In the city, the Corvette delivers 15 mpg while on the highway it goes up to 22 mpg. It's not the most pleasing number though it's better than its other muscle car cousin the Camaro Zl1. The Camaro Z06 gets a fuel capacity of 15.4 gallons.

The Corvette has the smallest fuel capacity of 15.4 gallons going up to the Ford with a 16-gallon tank. The Chevy and the Nissan have bigger 19 and 19.5-gallon fuel capacities. The Nissan delivers the most combined range of 351 miles followed by the Camaro delivering 304 miles. The Corvette delivers a combined range of 277 miles while the Shelby gives the lowest of 256 miles.
The z06's interior doesn't share the same extroverted nature as its exterior does. However, it has aged well and won't force claustrophobia down the border’s hearts like it did before. Since Chevy lists the Corvette under Performance cars, its interior is more driver-focused and doesn't promote any distractions.
The low height will make getting in and out an odd endeavor. The low height is compensated with a high seating position, however, you can easily find the right position with adjustable steering and seats.

The Corvette has front row space on par with its rivals. As you hit the road, you will have a good look at the street and on the highway. This promotes confidence and helps in spirited driving. The thin pillars overcome the bad cross-view problem which was evident in the Camaro. All the controls are in the vicinity of the driver and the quality is right for the price. You won't find any necessary plastics in the Corvette, though its competitors are all game when it comes to interiors.
Performance cars are built to perform, so it's obvious they prioritize handling over utility, well the z06 begs to differ. The flat cargo bay can swallow more suitcases for your weekend escapade than you expect. You get a total of 15 cubic feet worth of cargo volume. Inside the cabin, there are not many palaces to put your stuff but that's nitpicking, you can manage the cabin.

The Corvette provides the most cargo area of 15 cu-ft followed by the Ford Shelby with 13.5 cu-ft of cargo capacity. The Camaro gets a cargo capacity of 9.1 cu-ft while the GTR has the least of the lot with 8.8 cu-ft.
The Corvette comes standard with an 8-inch infotainment screen. Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment system delivers fast response and has an easy to use interface. Chevy brought all their artillery and installed it in this sports machine. For audio, there is an advanced 10-speaker audio system from Bose.
You get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard features. Also, the z06 was backed with voice-activated technology to access the Radio and Phone.
The Corvette might get a hypercar reaction on the streets but the styling is too extroverted. Some people may not like the over the top design. The soft rear end on the C6 used to be tasteful with its round lights but now the rear end is more menacing and full of character.
The fine lines on the hood enhance the drag coefficient and the functional hood air extractor doesn't intrude on the design flow. The beefed-up rear end has a muscle car vibe while the low height hood is a true sports car hallmark.

The Corvette weighs the least among the competition weighing in at 3524 lbs followed by the Shelby at 3760 lbs and the Camaro at 3883 lbs. The GTR weighs the most of the bunch at 3933 lbs. The Corvette evidently has a significant weight advantage over the competition.
The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette z06 coupe offers speed, control, and practicality, though the lack of third party crash testing puts the safety angle in a haze. Still, Chevy infused a lot of safety features that take care of the Z06. The set of airbags in the Corvette Z06 include Driver and passenger frontal and side-impact airbags. There are also advanced safety features including Traction control along with Performance Traction Management and Active handling stability control.
The Corvette is a muscle car mind in a Sportscar body and the design has worked out perfectly for Chevy. Though, even the stand-alone muscles have a respectable name too, and who better than the Camaro to display the mighty muscle car segment. While both cars offer similar power the joy of the experience is completely different.
While Corvette dominates the tracks, Camaro is built for the streets. It can seat your squad and drive like a badass while Corvette is a driver-centric ride. Your choice of car will depend on your preference, whether you want a muscle or a sports car.
The Ford Shelby GT350 is the Hercules of all muscle cars. The V8 engine may feel underpowered in front of the Corvette though it brings similar joy, hopes, and dreams to the buyer. In many ways, it offers the same things as the Camaro but again it's an entirely different animal altogether.
Compared to the Corvette, Shelby offers brute power with manageable handling while the Vette is the real deal when it comes to handling. Though the Shebly has its perks, we would recommend you to push your budget and enter the supercar territory with the Corvette.
Equate the Corvette's looks and performance in monetary terms and you will overquote Chevy's price tag. Corvette brings the American sports car game into the German league. This is the C8 generation that has knocked the previously successful designs out of the park. Though the styling can be outrageous and overdone for some people. Practicality is generally collateral damage in a sports car but the Chevrolet Corvette managed to keep its boot space alive, which is a good thing. Going with the Corvette is not a bad idea, it is probably the best sports car under the 70 grand mark.
