The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe SE comes with a powerful 3.3L V6 engine that offers respectable power and torque figures as per the segment standards. The 3.3L V6 whips out a healthy 290 horsepower which seems at par for the segment as the competitors like Dodge Durango SXT, Honda Pilot LX, and high-priced GMC Acadia Denali show almost the same on-paper results of 293, 280, and 310 hp respectively.
The motor is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission that does a brilliant job of handling all the power from the motor efficiently. The shifts are seamless and the transmission will give you the right gear whenever you need it. The motor is smooth and might disappoint some enthusiasts who seek a throaty exhaust note. The power delivery is instant and strong and will satiate your need while zipping through city traffic or quickly overtaking a slow-moving vehicle ahead out on the highways.

The third-row seats of the Pilot are actually usable while the Acadia's third-row seats are practical but not quite comfortable for big adults over a long distance.
