2017 Lamborghini Huracan Review

The Huracan Coupe will blow your mind once you are inside it. Screaming exhaust, exotic Italian exteriors, and cockpit-like interiors will surely tempt you to be in the car as long as possible. Its outstanding handling and a superfast mid-engine setup are to die for.

The Italian speedster Lamborghini Huracan has been raging and burning the roads of the USA since 2014. For Lamborghini, the Huracan is the successor of Gallardo and is performing well up to the company's expectations. The 2017 model of the Huracan has its place in the first generation of the Huracan line-up and offers a new rear-wheel drivetrain configuration.

Supplying the power to the blazing beast is a 5.2 L V10 engine, which produces either 580 hp or 610hp of power depending upon its tuning. The powerful engine is mated to a 7-speed automated manual transmission system to bring the best out of the Huracan.

The Huracan LP 580-2 is the only trim to have in the RWD drivetrain. Some of the key highlights of the LP 580-2 include steel brakes and 19-inch wheels. Coming to the LP 610 variant, employs the same V10 engine present in the base trim but the engine is tuned differently to produce extra power and torque. Carbon ceramic brakes along with 20-inch wheels come as standard in the LP 610. The most expensive Huracan trim, LP 610-4 Avio is different from the 610 in the way that it gets an aircraft-inspired cockpit and LP 610's optional features as standard.

We Recommend

For entry-level buyers, the Huracan LP 580-2 trim is suitable as its rear-wheel-drive makes it a little less powerful than the trims with AWD. Moreover, if we consider the price difference, the LP 580-2 is $37,000 cheaper than the LP 610. However, to get the best out of the Huracan, the upper trims are recommended.

2017 Lamborghini Huracan Coupe vs Audi R8

One of the biggest advantages of the Audi R8 over the Lamborghini Huracan is its lower price tag. To be precise, the R8 costs nearly $39,900 less than the Huracan. Both the cars house a similar 5.2-L V10 engine but the Huracan's engine power is better than the R8. A few parameters in which the Audi R8 has supremacy over the Huracan include braking, ground clearance, and cargo capacity. However, the 2017 Lamborghini Huracan excels in terms of 0-60 mph acceleration time, quarter-mile time, and vehicle length.

2017 Lamborghini Huracan Coupe vs McLaren 570S

Yet another sports car that matches up pretty well with the 2017 Lamborghini Huracan is the McLaren 570S. In comparison with the Huracan, the McLaren has its ups and downs. Firstly, on the upside, the McLaren 570S has a lower selling price, better torque delivery, efficient brakes, greater fuel economy, and larger cargo volume than the Huracan. However, on the downside, its maximum engine power, acceleration, annual emissions, and ground clearance are inferior to the offerings made by the Lamborghini Huracan.

Final Verdict

The 2017 Lamborghini Huracan is without a doubt one of the best sports cars available in the US. With its highly agile nature and outstanding appearance, the Huracan can outpace most of its rivals. However, there are a few downsides of the car such as its expensive price tag and low cargo space that seems to be disappointing. Finally, the conclusion made by us is that if you can afford a Huracan, then definitely go for it, otherwise, plenty of alternatives are available.
