Overall Rating
The Lincoln Continental is pure American luxury. This car is unreal. It drives well, feels opulent, and is embedded with a luxurious interior. Coming from a brand named after the President, Abraham Lincoln, the levels of luxury on the Continent sedan are no less than a Presidential suite of a 5-star hotel.

All the trim levels of the Lincoln Continental come with a 3.7-liter turbocharged V6 engine. The power unit pumps out solid 305 horses and delivers 280 pound-feet of torque.
The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and you get the option of sending the power to the front wheels or all four wheels. Power is sent to the ground by the means of a torque vectoring differential.

Also, all the rivals are priced in the same league.
This car isn't really the car you would take on to the track and try to exploit every single horse that the engine offers. Nevertheless, if you by chance happen to take it to the race track, Lincoln has ensured that the Continental would not disappoint you there. Step on the gas and the Continental can launch itself from rest to 60 mph in about 6.8 seconds. This car can also hit the quarter-mile mark in about 14.9 seconds.

The Kia K900 gets a 6-horsepower advantage and thus has the best acceleration and quarter-mile timings in the competition. The Cadillac XTS, on the other hand, is the slowest in this segment and falls behind the Continental.
Lincoln pretty much has a reputation for building cars with soft suspensions that kind of offer floaty and wobbly ride quality. But not with this one. Suspensions have been firmed up quite a bit such that the ride quality has gone somewhat on the harsher side and is something that you would generally not expect from a luxury car. Expect a bump or a two to travel through your spine as you go over bad roads. The ride quality is just OK and could have been better.
The steering on the car is sharp and responsive. The car turns perfectly well and the steering wheel isn't vague. The car zips past corners nicely and the stiffer suspension set up further enhances the high-speed cornering abilities. The steering is not like a sports car but is easily one of the best when it comes to midsize luxury sedans.
Brakes aren't just mere devices that help in stopping your car but also protect you from a fatal accident. Moreover, the good stopping powers of the car give you the confidence to exploit all the horses that the engine makes. The Lincoln Continental comes with 13.9 inches diameter discs at the front and gets 13.6 inches diameter discs at the rear. Slam on the brakes and the Continental will come to a halt at a distance of 110 feet from a speed of 60 mph.

Most people shopping for a midsize luxury would not really bother about fuel economy but for the very few environment-friendly people out there, we have the facts and the figures with us. The Continental can go for 17 miles on a single gallon of fuel in the city while on the highway it can go for 26 miles on a gallon of fuel. The Continental gets a combined fuel economy rating of 20 mpg.

One most the interior of the Continental is one of the most pristine interiors in the segment. Crafted in leather and other upmarket materials it almost feels like you are sitting in a car that's twice the cost of the sticker price of the Continental. There are digital speedometers and tachometer which sit right in front of the driver and it also doubles up as a display for the navigation system. The dashboard is neatly laid out and you will find extensive use of leather, aluminum, and chrome inside the car. The car is spacious and once you get in you wouldn't really want to get out.
You expect a luxury car to be spacious and comfortable and the Lincoln Continental does live up to your expectations. The Lincoln can accommodate 5 passengers and offers a total passenger volume of 106.4 cubic feet. The seats are nicely cushioned hence offering you a better in-ride experience. You also get an optional 24-way adjustable seat package with a massage feature to take your in ride experience to the next level.

This is quite a competitive segment as all the contenders offer similar levels of interior room and passenger capacity. But the Kia K900 stands out for offering the most legroom in the front row while the rear row credits are taken by the Lincoln Continental. The Lincoln Continental has been stuffed with goodies and a few of them have been listed below.
The infotainment system of the Lincoln Continental is pretty disappointing. It is Ford's Sync 3 infotainment interface and is not at all intuitive. There is an 8-inch central display that is home to the infotainment system and other car controls and settings. The screen lags and is slow to respond. The brightness levels are low and on a sunny day, the screen tends to glare away. The infotainment system is the only place where Lincoln has cheaped out. On the flip side, you get all your basic features like a CD player, aux input, HD radio, and a USB input. The plus of the infotainment system is that you get an optional 19 speaker Revel Ultima sound system which delivers crisp audio quality. Some of the other features include:
The Lincoln Continental is the car of the rich and the elite. If you ever have to go to the golf club, you can throw in your golf kit into the large trunk of the Continental. The Continental has a total cargo volume of 16.7 cubic feet which is pretty decent for a car in this segment.

The Lincoln Continental is a large luxury sedan. It has got a commanding stance and has an excellent street presence. The exterior of the Continental is spot on. It's soft and edgy at the same time. That thin red band at the rear echoes old Lincoln’s and is very distinctive from any other car on sale. The front is just elegant and simple while the side profile is clean. The two-tone wheels are sporty and the details, for instance, the metal door handles just below the glass and the mirror attachment points are like modern furniture.
Beefed-up sensitive areas in the driver’s door let you punch in a code to lock and unlock the car or you can just press the lock icon. The proportionate and thoughtfully laid out dimensions of the car give it great looks. The Continental is 201.4 inches long, 75.3 inches wide, and is 58.5 inches wide. The car gets a decent ground clearance of 5.5 inches.

The Cadillac XTS happens to be the longest car in the competition at 202 inches while the widest car of the lot is the Lincoln Continental. The XTS is also the tallest car in the lot at 59.1 inches. The Kia K900 gets the best in a class ground clearance of 5.7 inches. Some of the cool features on the outside of the Lincoln Continental are listed below.
Lincoln understands that important people will be driven around in this car and so the Continental has been equipped with tons of safety features. The new Lincoln Continental gets a ‘Good' rating in most of the crash tests conducted by the IIHS and also gets a 5-star rating in most of the crash tests conducted by the NHTSA. Some of the safety features include:
The all-American rival of the Lincoln Continental is the Cadillac XTS. The cars are quite similar to each other. Cadillac and Lincoln are priced almost similarly, produce similar power figures, have similar acceleration figures, fuel economy numbers are also pretty much the same and even the space on the inside is also equal. There is nothing much to differentiate between the two cars when it comes to specs and features. It ultimately comes down to the looks which purely depends on your taste. So, we would rather leave it to you which car you should go for if you have to choose between the two.
The Kia K900 V6 is the Korean rival of the Lincoln Continental. Kia uses a slightly bigger 3.7-liter engine and thus makes 6 more horses than the Continental. The six extra horses help the K900 to deliver better acceleration timings. But the Continental beats the K900 in terms of braking. Both Kia and the Lincoln offer the same fuel economy ratings. Kia also costs you $3000 extra. In conclusion, we would rather suggest you go for the Lincoln Continental since it offers a more balanced package and it also looks better and also costs less.
The Lincoln Continental is the car where sense and snob go hand in hand. The Lincoln Continental is a perfect blend of luxury, practicality, and performance. The quality levels in the car are very high and this one has set a benchmark for what a midsize luxury sedan needs to be.
The Continental offers great value for your money and if you are planning to buy a car in this category then this one should certainly be on top of your list. One of the legendary cars in the American market, the Lincoln Continental, continues to carry forward the legacy of 55 years on its back really, really well.
