Ford has taken some effort to improve the Sync 3 infotainment system.

We Recommend
The base model MKX Premier would suffice for most of the customers as it comes bundled with a wide variety of features, which makes it an ideal match for shoppers who are looking to buy a vehicle with a decent amount of options. The MKX Select can also be a good option as it would offer leather seats and a hands-free power liftgate but would cost you more than the base model.
There are two engine options available with the Lincoln MKX: a 3.7-liter V6 which is capable of producing 303 horsepower and a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 with 335 horsepower. Though the all-wheel drive is available at an additional cost there is a standard six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Both the engine options of the MKX are quite powerful to provide enough speed to the vehicle. The twin-turbo V6 engine feels punchier at a lower speed which makes the ride more enjoyable.

Both the engine variants having exclusively a 6-speed automatic transmission makes the gearbox's gear ratios feel just right and it provides quick and clean downshifts when called upon by the throttle pedal. Among the competition, theInfiniti QX60 clearly stands out with 295 horsepower along with its Acura MDX which comes with a powerful 3.5 l 6-cylinder engine that is capable of generating 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque.
The 2017 MKX surpasses its competitors likeBuick Enclave and Infiniti QX60 as it sprints from 0-60 mph in mere 6.3 seconds which is one of the best in class. The base trim V-6 offers an ample amount of power to the vehicle but the optional twin-turbo engine is capable of providing more off-the-line acceleration ability making it a responsive high-speed passing vehicle.

Though theAcura MDX is the fastest in terms of quick acceleration, it is not the best in terms of top speed. The Lincoln MKX is the car with the highest top speed of 155 mph in the segment. Infiniti QX60 falls second in line with 142 mph top speed.
The MKX gets a good reliability rating when it comes to driving dynamics. Its powerful suspension absorbs the shock on rough terrains and works best if equipped with the Lincoln's Continuously Controlled Damping system. It is able to prevent excessive body roll around tight turns. The MKX boasts responsive steering and weighs perfectly, making the SUV remarkably accurate.
Even with the big 20-inch wheels, the Lincoln MKX has a rear-multi link independent suspension and a good pair of adaptive shocks delivering a more absorbent ride. With a number of driving options to choose from, the MKX makes a great vehicle for longer hauls by providing a composed and relaxed experience to its passengers.
The touchy brake pedals of the MKX Premier don't function that well as it is supposed to be. Though the official figures show that the car is able to halt in the panic brake test at 118 feet, when applying the brakes, the front wheel seems to generate a seesaw response, and the stability control actually worsens that effect. The initial pedal application generated very little response, and even the vague brake pedals didn't have a smooth halt.

Others in the class have decent stopping prowess, barring Buick Enclave, as it takes nearly 134 feet to stop from 60-0 mph. The AWD variants of these vehicles do seem to have a considerable improvement in their braking performance. Despite few issues with the braking of the MKX, it still manages to beat the rivals in the 60-0mph distance.
The Lincoln MKX doesn't set a high standard with its lesser fuel-efficient engines as the standard 3.7-liter V6 engine gets an estimated 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway (16/23 mpg with all-wheel drive) by the EPA. Whereas the other variant 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine is capable of returning 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The number further drops below 16/23/19 mpg if the all-wheel drive is added to the vehicle. However, these numbers are on par with bigger, body-on-frame SUVs.

By every standard, the Lincoln MKX Premier is decidedly thirsty, and the optional 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 may seem to perform better aspects but the Infiniti QX60 performs a tad bit better with its 3.5-liter V6 engine, which has 22mpg combined rating as rated by the EPA. Here again, Buick Enclave offers the worst figures on the table.
The Lincoln MKX is a 2-row SUV with five seats. The front seats are supportive and provide excellent comfort on longer trips. The rear seats are comfy as well, and both rows offer ample head- and legroom for taller passengers. Heated front seats and leatherette upholstery are standard.
Ventilated, massaging, and leather seats are available. opt for the panoramic moonroof and you'll find limited rear-seat headroom.

The MKX's interior remains whisper-quiet at highway speeds, and its cabin is handsomely styled. Many surfaces are padded with soft-touch plastics. Poke around though, and you'll find some materials that don't feel quite up to luxury SUV standards.
One of the major improvements that have improved the functionality of the Lincoln MKX is the standard SYNC 3 infotainment system, which is the successor of the MyLincoln Touch system, which was infamous for its poor graphics and unresponsive touch. In the newer model, the menus are easy to understand, and the touch screen has crisp graphics and reacts quickly to inputs. Some of the standard features which come with the MKX are:
The cargo capacity of the Lincoln MKX Premiere takes the last spot with its 37.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. Even with its seats folded down, it can only manage to take in 69 cubic feet of cargo which is way less than the standard trunk capacity of hybrid SUVs. On the other hand, the Buick Enclave walks the talk with its 98 cubic feet of storage area leaving behind Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60.

The 2017 Lincoln MKX is quite identical to Ford Edge but the current generation of premium crossover carries a distinguished look than before.
With a wagon-like profile, the MKX Premier has been designed with softer and graceful side-body sculpting which makes the car look more voluptuous than before. This crossbreed SUV has implemented the front fascia with the latest dual grille look, from the smaller MKC.

The Infiniti QX60 is the heaviest car in this segment. The Buick Enclave comes in the second position followed by the Lincoln MKX. The Acura MDX is the lightest. Ground clearance is another deciding factor for buyers as they think about getting scraped from the bottom. There is nothing to worry about as the Lincoln MKX exhibits the highest ground clearance of 7.8 inches which is the best among the competitions.
The 2017 Lincoln MKX SUV gets a perfect five-star rating for overall, front, and side-impact safety, as well as four stars for rollover crash safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration(NHTSA). The SUV was named 2017 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety(IIHS) as well, as it received a top score of Good in all areas that were tested. Along with these impressive safety ratings speaking for themselves, Lincoln has added a variety of safety features with the SUV. Some of which include-
One of the best features of the 2017 Buick Enclave is that the car doesn't upset the comfort even while driving on uneven terrain. The SUV can accommodate up to eight passengers and can hold a decent amount of cargo. The car rides high on top safety scores and gives the rider peace of mind. Its interior, however, is subpar and takes a beating with its ancient infotainment and climate control system. Buyers wouldn't be pleased with its disappointing acceleration and fuel economy.
The 2017 Acura MDX comes with a generous array of features and active driver aids, which makes it worth its price. Opting for its optional SH-AWD system would surely enhance your handling experience and give you much needed all-season surefootedness. The 3.2-liter V6 engine gives the MDX a smooth and confident acceleration. The Acura MDX does have some downsides just like its adaptive cruise control, which is sometimes slow to respond and becomes abrupt when it does. The touchscreen of the MDX isn't user friendly, and the graphics don’t stand anywhere near its rivals. The choice between the two remains tricky.
The Infiniti QX60 makes a soothing and comfortable companion as it not only has a quiet cabin but it offers a comfortable ride. Passengers can have easy access to its third-row seats and can enjoy the luxurious feel of the car due to its smooth transmission. The QX60 makes the long trips enjoyable with its plush ride quality and quiet interior. However, the passengers in the rear seats may face space issues due to the car’s cramped design. Off-road capability doesn't seem to be a part of the QX60 formula. The basic feature that is expected from a car of its class, is only available in higher trims or bundled into packages.
