The Audi has now introduced its hottest RS version of the TT Coupe to the American audience and yes, it's no less than a delight. Audi has thrown in all the possible performance upgrades to make the 2018 Audi TT RS one wicked sports coupe but it's the interiors that steal the limelight.
Starting at about $64,900, the Audi gets a 400 hp 2.5L TFSI Inline-5 engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. And thanks to the Quattro All-Wheel Drive, the tiny TT can reach 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds; bang into the supercar territory. Its acceleration and handling are impressive and the engine below the hood is efficient enough in providing decent fuel mileage. We will now check the features which give the 2018 Audi TT RS an edge over its rivals.
Audi TT RS comes in just one trim and costs $64,900. The features on offer include Automatic climate control, Virtual instrument panel, Leather upholstery, Heated, and power-adjustable front sports seats. Opt for the Technology package which offers navigation and smartphone integration. Moreover, with its elegant, curvy lines and melodic engine that gives its competitors a run for its money. The TT RS copies over the design & functionality of the standard TT coupe but gets the added madness of the RS. Audi didn't feel compelled to make a convertible version of the TT RS, owing to safety and stability issues and which is why the coupe is the only thing that is on sale right now.

The BMW and the Jaguar F-type Coupe get a bigger engine, they both get a 3L engine but aren’t as powerful as Audi’s engine. The BMW is the 2nd powerful machine generating about 365hp of power and 343 lb.-ft of torque. The Jaguar despite having a bigger engine couldn't channel the expected power and therefore, stands last in this segment.
The Audi TT RS gets a 2.5L engine which is enough for the car to make it reach from 0-60mph in about 3.6 secs. This makes the Audi the fastest among the Rivals in its 0-60 time. The Audi also needs 13.6 secs in the quarter-mile run which is not the best time considering its rivals.
With regards to the handling, it could be best described as being neutral. It lacks the thrill and excitement usually provided by Audi but it still manages to perform decently.

The Audi provides the best acceleration in this segment with its ability to reach 0-60 in just 3.6 secs which is quite impressive. However, Porsche is the fastest model to reach its quarter-mile. The Jaguar, however, is the slowest model in this segment.
Braking is one sector that has disappointed even the ardent fans of the brand. The Audi TT RS provides a decent performance but its braking is quite weak. The brakes can get occasionally provide late responses and takes a longer time to reach a stop. This makes the overall atmosphere in the vehicle quite tensed.

If Fuel economy is also your concern, Audi has got your back. The Audi gets a decent number of 19 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. The combined MPG goes to about 22. Which is by far the best Economy considering its rivals. The car with the worst economy figures is the Jaguar F-type.

The data provided clearly indicates that Audi provides a decent mileage and fuel economy. Porsche comes next in terms of providing the best fuel economy but the Jaguar comes last in this segment because of its thrifty fuel economy.
The Audi TT RS has been most appreciated for its interiors. The interior is considered to be a masterpiece of style that is a combination of simplicity and modernity. It is made up of high-end materials which makes the cabin feel luxurious and adds to the charm of the model. Moreover, the cabin includes a leather upholstery which is made up of expensive premium leather that looks elegant.
Audi has a passenger capacity of 4. However, it’s not meant for carrying 4 passengers as there isn’t much space for people in the back and it's too cramped in the rear seat. The rear seat gets a Headroom of 33.8 In., A shoulder room of 47.9 In., and 28.9 In. of legroom. So it isn’t that great for people in the back.

So, the Audi is not as comfortable as the BMW in terms of seating comfort as the BMW gets better space compared to the Audi. The Porsche and the Jaguar are 2-Seater cars and the Porsche gets better front row space compared to the Audi.
In terms of cargo capacity, the Audi TT RS had tried to accommodate a decent cargo and storage unit but they have been unsuccessful to a large extent. The cargo is shallow and can only be used to store the minimum and smaller essential items. However, it is pointless to expect too much utility from a coupe.Â

The Audi TT isn’t the car to go for a touring, it’s just meant for the track and it does an excellent job doing that. But still, the Audi has got a better Boot volume of about 12 ft. Cube, which when compared to its rivals isn’t really the best but still good enough. The Jaguar gets the best boot space of 14.4 ft. Cube.
The exteriors of the Audi TT RS is everything one can expect from Audi. It is sleek and attractive and makes it impossible for the by-standers to ignore it once it hits the roads. Audi offers a range of exterior colors to choose from but some of the defining features such as the metallic lines running across the coupe, the high power LED headlights, and the glossy rims remain standard. Moreover, the compact proportion of Audi TT RS makes it a desirable model.

At around 3306 lbs, the Audi TT RS weighs about average among the rivals. Also, it’s not as long as its rivals with a length of 165 inches, a width of 72.1 inches, and a height of 52.9 inches. The TT RS has a tiny footprint and can easily fit into tight parking spaces.
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and brake assist prevent the car from sliding and going sideways in case of any hard braking. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with secondary collision brake assist and traction control (ASR) don’t let the car to lose traction.
The other Safety Features on offer include Anti-theft alarm system, Tire-pressure monitoring system, Safety belt reminder for driver and front passenger and Lower anchors for child seats in rear seats.
The Porsche 718 Cayman S costs around $67,700 which is almost $3k costlier than the Audi TT. Despite that, the Cayman S produces less power, is less comfortable and cannot perform on icy roads. However, if you want ultimate driving experience, there are few cars at any price range that can offer as good experience behind the wheel as the 718 Cayman.
The Jaguar costs around 4k much more than the Audi TT, and while you won’t get better performance numbers for the extra price, the F-Type is more fun to drive down a curvy road. Also, the jaguar is as comfortable for two as the Audi TT RS.
However, if you need a sports car for the snowy roads, the Audi TT RS is the only option at this price range.
The BMW M2 Coupe is the cheapest of the lot. It’s almost $10k cheaper than the Audi, gets a bigger 3.0-liter M Twin Power Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine. Also, it’s a 4-seater car as that of the Audi. Also, the M2 offers one of the purest driving experience you can get in a modern BMW.
The Audi TT RS wins in terms of practicality with its comfy feature loaded interior and Quattro All-Wheel Drive.
Starting at around $64,900, the Audi is a well-packaged performance coupe. It has got the best 0-60mph acceleration timing and even better fuel economy. Inside, it’s loaded with creature comfort and the Quattro All-Wheel Drive which makes it an all-weather performance car. However, Audi TT RS is not the most impressive when it comes to the breaking and occasionally, the steering wheel feels unresponsive making the ride a little bumpy. Despite that, the 2018 Audi TT RS is a decent model. Regardless, if you need a purer driving experience, the competitors like the Porsche 718 and the Jaguar F-type are a better purchase despite having lower power output.
