The 2018 Ford C MAX is a Hybrid Wagon that has agile handling and a swift acceleration among the best cars manufactured by the Ford. The Ford C MAX has abundant capabilities within its small size. It is more accurate to call it a compact wagon or a hatchback that is the best suitable for driving within cities.

The Ford C MAX has been there for quite some time but this facelift to the C MAX has a few refinements that add to the enhancement of the wagon's performance, fuel economy, and factors alike. The compact wagon has been reinvigorated for a better ride and handling experience with more comfortable interiors that are built with high-quality materials.

Pricing and Features
6.0/10

The Ford C MAX comes with a starting price of $24,120 and it is available in two trim levels as the Hybrid SE and the Hybrid Titanium. The Hybrid SE will be the best option for a budget-minded buyer as it has almost all the functionalities at the basic level. However, the Hybrid Titanium features all the advancements of the Ford.

The C MAX Hybrid SE manages to meet the expectations of the buyer with surplus functionalities. It features dual-zone automatic climate control and a power-adjustable driver seat which are all not outdated advancements in technology. In terms of entertainment and connectivity, it features a 6-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, SYNC, and a USB Port. The C MAX Hybrid Titanium is loaded with abundant advancements to the already existing features of the Hybrid SE.

We Recommend:

The Ford comes with a power-packed engine and advanced features and looks compact and stylish. If you are looking for an economical option, the best value for your money would be the Hybrid SE trim level. The C MAX Hybrid SE trim is good to go for an entry-level wagon that would save more money. You can also add most of the C-MAX's advanced features as add-on options to your ride.

Engine and Performance
8.3/10

In both, the Hybrid SE and the Hybrid Titanium Trim Levels the Ford comes with a 2.0L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle Inline-4 Hybrid Engine that runs on Gasoline. The Hybrid engine includes a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission System that ensures the delivery of 188hp power.

The other rivalries are not able to beat the Ford C MAX in terms of power however, the Nissan Leaf manages to deliver an amazing amount of 236 lb-ft of torque that is the maximum among all the competitors. The Hybrid's powertrain works both on gasoline and electric power and the transition between the two is a smooth and comfortable one. The CVT Transmission System is electronically controlled and it works in such a manner that it feels automatic.

Ford C MAX Hybrid vs Toyota Prius One

The Ford has better features when compared to the Toyota Prius in terms of engine capacity, power delivery, acceleration, handling, and interior space. Though the Toyota costs $1000 lesser than the Ford, the C MAX is the best pick because of its feature-richness.

Ford C MAX Hybrid vs Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid Blue

The engine specifications of the Ford Hybrid cannot be beaten by the Hyundai Ioniq and it does not deliver that much power as the C MAX. It is slower in both acceleration and braking, when compared to Ford, however, in terms of fuel economy, the Hyundai is more efficient.

Ford C MAX Hybrid vs Nissan Leaf S

The Nissan Leaf is a completely electric car that delivers a good performance with its engine motor and single-speed transmission engine. It is the most eco-friendly rivalry that runs completely on electric power and best suited for highway travels. If you are budget-minded you can very well go for the C MAX as the Nissan costs $5000 higher than the Ford.

Final Verdict

The 2018 Ford C MAX Hybrid is a compact wagon that delivers as much power as possible and though it does not deliver an up to mark fuel economy among the cars that run on gasoline, it does offer a smooth and safe ride to the occupants. The Ford has showcased a reasonable amount of differences in the two trim levels and it is the buyer’s choice to choose one among the two as per their requirements.
