Overall Rating
Cadillac offers the Escalade in two configurations, the standard wheelbase and an extended ESV with a longer wheelbase that provides 10-inch additional legroom and more than 25 cubic feet of extra cargo space.
A humongous body paired with a chunky design happens to explain the Escalade perfectly! With a strong resemblance to the GMC Yukon, this SUV has an appearance that shows it has been derived from a truck.
Though in this world of subtle lines and chic designs the Escalade is an SUV stuck in time. Cadillac is keeping its chunky design alive by updating the SUV yearly in terms of the mechanicals and the cosmetic appearance. The 2019 Escalade comes with no major changes over the last year's model and belongs to the fourth generation model introduced in 2015.
All the 2019 Escalade comes standard with a powerful V-8 engine so choosing between the trim basically depends upon the kind of features you want inside the vehicle. As all the Cadillac boasts an extensive list of features but to get the best interior, we would suggest you go with the Premium Luxury trim. It comes with all the features of Luxury trim and adds a rear entertainment system and adaptive cruise control.

All the Escalade comes standard with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard while you get the four-wheel-drive layout as an option. Some of the standard features of the Escalade include LED headlights, automatic wipers, front and rear parking sensors, automatic parallel and perpendicular parking assist, a hands-free liftgate, remote start, three-zone automatic climate control, a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, power-adjustable pedals, a surround-view parking camera system, a head-up display, a camera-based rearview mirror system, and advanced collision mitigation system among other features.

All the 2019 Escalade comes standard with a powerful V-8 engine so choosing between the trim basically depends upon the kind of features you want inside the vehicle. For the 2019 model year, the company has not made any major changes to Escalade's powertrain. However, a 10-speed automatic transmission, jointly developed by General Motors and Ford, replaces the previous model year's 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 6.2-liter V-8 engine is as mighty as before and is more than adequate to move this 5,500-pound behemoth briskly. The motor feels quite refined and the new 10-speed transmission works like a charm, delivering all the power quite effectively and efficiently courtesy of the two extra gears. Urban driving feels relaxed and composed but the SUV changes its character the moment you put your right foot down. The strong surge in power remains till the top-end of the rev range and even under a full load, the motor feels hardly stressed.

The Land Rover Range Rover lacks behind seriously with its paltry horsepower and torque figures as compared to the rivals. The Lincoln Navigator has the best power, torque, and tow ratings among the rivals on the list.
Despite its humongous size the 2019 Cadillac Escalade is the quickest of the lot and makes the 0-60mph sprint in 6.1 seconds. It even beat others in the quarter-mile stretch as well as it takes only 14.6 seconds to cover it. The quick acceleration makes it easier to drive within the city limits as well as out on the highways too.

The 2019 Escalade's ride quality is plush and comfortable however you may feel some occasional jitteriness over uneven roads owing to the big rims. You are likely to get a stiff ride with the optional 22-inch wheel setup but the SUV holds its ground nicely thanks to its balanced steering and suspension setup.
The magnetic ride control is optional and improves the overall ride quality vastly.
The Escalade comes with 17-inch rotors at the front and rear, making it the biggest amongst its rivals. Also, the brakes on the Escalade feel strong but the sheer heft of the SUV does result in some amount of nose-dive under hard braking conditions. The Escalade takes 133-feet to stop from 60mph which is decent considering the SUV's heft.

The Range Rover might be the most lethargic and underpowered SUV on the list but it aces the braking competition completely with an impressive 60-0mph distance of only 120 ft. The GMC Yukon Denali covers the longest distance while coming to a complete stop from 60mph.
Fuel economy? Who cares! If you're into buying this big, bulky, muscular SUV you must be fluent enough to spend those extra bucks on the gas. Jokes apart, the Escalade with the beefy V-8 engine has an EPA rating of just 14 mpg city/23 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined which is on the lower side when compared to the rivals.

The best of the bunch is the Land Rover Range Rover It has the best fuel economy and the best range. The Escalade manages to have a good range thanks to its large 26-gallon fuel tank.
Inside the Escalade is quiet, but the bumpy ride quality and so-so seats add some negative points. The rear seats are the biggest drawback; they do not feel comfy enough and have fewer features than the front seats. Although, there is a good amount of headroom and legroom in the first and second row which you would rather expect from an SUV this size. Overall, the cabin feels quite spacious but the plush experience is bogged down a little bit with some cheap quality plastics.
The GMC Yukon which is priced much less than the Cadillac and offers plenty of space for seven people and is a better alternative. Size-wise the Yukon matches the Cadillac neck-to-neck but you get more rear shoulder room and value for money in the GMC.

The cargo capacity is impressive for a full-size SUV although the Lincoln Navigator offers better cargo space than the Escalade. The Navigator also manages to have interior space than the Escalade.Â
Seating feature includes:
Everything inside looks worthy of the Escalade's price with an attractive 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system although it feels slow to respond to the inputs and difficult to navigate. Even the touch-sensitive buttons on the center stack feel sluggish.
The CUE (Cadillac User Experience) infotainment system includes:
The 2019 Cadillac Escalade is the big boss of the GM's luxury line-up. It is one of the most recognizable Cadillac on the road today thanks to its chunky edges and daunting stance. There is also no denying the fact that this SUV boasts more masculinity than any other vehicle of its class. Its unmistakable styling is evident from every angle and it shares much of its structure with the Chevy Tahoe, Suburban, and the GMC Yukon.

You get a full-led headlight with four crystals that act as a high beam, giving radiant light. Long vertical taillight also gets LEDs which makes it easy to follow the Escaladed when visibility is low. An aerodynamic rear spoiler adds a sporting flair to this SUV. It is, however, smaller than the Lincoln Navigator in size but the ESV model is about two feet longer than the standard model making it one of the largest in class.
The 2019 Escalade come equipped with an innovative airbag placed between the front seats designed to protect the passenger from colliding with each other. A new feature enables the SUV to park itself at the press of a button, which is a boon while driving in congested conditions. Cadillac has fitted the Escalade with several levels of safety that can detect if someone is trying to steal the car by breaking the glass or towing it. This system sounds the alarm and prevents the vehicle from starting or moving. The NHSTA has rated the 2019 Cadillac Escalade with a four-star rating overall while the SUV scored a "Basic" rating for the front crash prevention test conducted by the IIHS. Some of the safety features include.
If you want a luxury SUV without three-row seating, then go for the Land Rover Range Rover. It has a better fuel economy than the Escalade especially when equipped with the turbodiesel engine. The Land Rover also offers a luxurious ride and can take even the toughest trails.
A four-wheel drive is standard on all its models which are otherwise optional on Escalade. All these features do come at a price as the Range Rover has a higher starting price than the Cadillac.
Both these vehicles are similar in many ways and the Yukon's Denali trim feels like an Escalade under a different name. Yukon and Escalade both offer two wheelbase options, a V-8 engine, and plush interior although.
GMC Yukon also comes with a soft-touch surface and high-grade material, including real woods and leather. It is the price that makes both the SUV part ways as the Yukon is almost 10,000 dollars cheaper than the Escalade.
Both the Escalade and Navigator are full-grown SUVs with truck-based, body-on-frame construction. They are available in extended-wheelbase versions with additional cargo capacity behind the third row. The key difference between the two is that Lincoln has redesigned the Navigator for 2019 while the Escalade remains the same since 2015.
The V-6 engine on the Navigator is more fuel-efficient and it is also more spacious inside. With more cargo space, towing capacity, and lower base price, Lincoln marches ahead of the Cadillac.
The 2019 Cadillac Escalade is the epitome of full-size SUVs and pairs itself with a luxurious interior along with excellent towing capacity. Although its trucklike body-on-frame is a big disadvantage as the SUV compromises on ride quality over uneven pavements. It also does not feel confident over corners. The Cadillac boasts one of the best interiors in the class however the infotainment system is a bit of a letdown. Regardless, the Escalade is the best looking and the quickest in the segment and ranks high as compared to rivals.
