Made available at $36620 and onwards, the 2019 Chevy Bolt is equipped with a 60kW electric motor that is capable of delivering 200hp and 266 lb.-ft. of torque which is pretty decent given the motor size. The Bolt EV can be charged using a standard home wall outlet but it may take up to 24 hours to get fully charged. The best option for fast charging is to use a level 3 fast charger or a level 2 charger (9 hours duration).
The Chevy bolt competes against the likes of other capable EVs namely, Nissan Leaf, BMW i3, Toyota Prius and Kia Soul EV. Chevrolet Bolt had been made available in two trims for its 2019 model year: the base LT and the top end Premier variant. Both the variants share a similar hybrid powertrain and same size lithium-ion battery. The difference lies in the safety offering and interior upgrades.
The Bolt LT offers two option packages: the $555 Comfort and Convenience package and the $495 Driver Confidence package. You can get a DC fast-charging option for $750. The Bolt LT is an affordable pick as it comes with an array of standard features such as:

Chevy Bolt generates the most power when compared with its rivals. Shadowing in on the Chevy Bolt is the Nissan Leaf which has 236 hp on offer.
The electric motor fitted in the 2019 Chevy Bolt offers spontaneous response and acceleration, with ample low-end torque. On selecting the Sport mode, the accelerator pedal smoothens and becomes more responsive to the drivers input. However, responses are lower on the highway, but Bolt manages to get through highway speeds.

In the acceleration test, the Chevy Bolt outperforms all its rivals as it takes only 6.5 seconds to do a 0-60 MPH run. The BMW i3 stands second in ranking, taking 0.7 seconds more than the Bolt which is just ridiculous considering its price.
The 2019 Chevy Bolt's braking is linear and the pedal is firm. The regenerative braking system recharges the battery whenever you lift your leg off the accelerator.
A paddle provided on the left side of the steering wheel allows on-demand regenerative braking and stops the car instantly. The more you use the regenerative braking, recaptured energy is transferred to the battery, this inturn helps increase your range.

With the heaviest curb weight in class, the brake rotors available for this vehicle measure, 11 inches and 10 inches. It's braking distance is unknown and we want to it that way.
The ride quality offered by Bolt EV is firm as well. There's little sign of impacts and jolts while driving on uneven terrain. Since the battery pack is mounted beneath the floor, the Bolt wears a low center of gravity that makes safe handling. The EV is absolutely fun to drive. One needs to keep in mind that the floor of the car is its power source, that area of the car is prone to damage on uneven surfaces due to its average ground clearance.
The 60-kWh battery pack offered for the Bolt EV is capable of delivering an EPA-rated range of 238 miles on a single charge. The Bolt EV is efficient with EPA ratings of up to 128 MPGe in the city. Given below is a comprehensive comparison of the mileages that Bolt and it's competition offers.

Bolt is by far the best and most efficient car in comparison. However, the BMW i3 stands close in the combined efficiency figures to that of Bolt. In that way, the Bolt by Chevy is yet again better than the German luxury, BMW.
You will find a generous legroom and headroom in both the rows of seats that makes Bolt comfortable for five occupants. The front seats are padded with a thin layer, but the limited driving range may not make it a matter of concern.
The vehicle is also equipped with a heated steering wheel standard on the top Premier variant and optional on the LT trim. You can now slide the sun visors back and forth for better sun blockage.

The BMW in consideration accommodates four individuals while the other two cars accommodate five adults each. With the most spacious interiors for its passenger room the Nissan leaf bags the first place. It is followed by the Chevrolet Bolt EV.Â
With Bolt's infotainment, you get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features, this comes in as a boon. These can be used for navigation functions otherwise there's no built-in navigation offered. At your disposal are several other useful EV-specific menus that allow you to extract information like remaining range and battery-energy usage. Bolt's touchscreen is responsive and easy to use.
The bolt is a practical machine in its own way. It offers generous cargo space and allows you to store smaller items throughout the cabin. You'll find a large compartment behind the electronic shifter for keeping your smartphone and other essentials. The "floating" dashboard is designed to bring in more space between the front seats beneath the center console.

The base variant bolt LT trim looks just about standard and is economical, more for economy-minded commutes, while the Premier trim looks dressed up with fancy wheels and chrome trim.
Its tall stance and chunky appearance make it look like a compact crossover. Chevrolet have done a good job making it look appealing with the available chrome accents on the windows and on the doors.

The Nissan leaf is the longest and widest vehicle of them all. The Chevy Bolt is the heaviest car in this lot and it has a decent wheelbase as well, however the best in segment wheelbase again belongs to Nissan.
Apart from the dimensional aspects, the GM owned Chevy has some external features to offer as well, a brief listing of the same is mentioned below:
You will notice some noteworthy safety technologies within the 2019 Chevy Bolt. With the Driver Confidence Package the following will be made available automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning. With the base Bolt LT model, you only get optional rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot warning.
Nissan Leaf is the longest running and one of the most successful EV from the Japanese manufacturer. The car has a powerful motor that generates 147hp and offers a range of 151 miles on a single charge. Leaf also gets better equipment than the Bolt and will cost you 7 grand lesser than the Chevy Bolt.
Amongst the Chevy Bolt EV and the BMW i3, we would recommend you to come down to which fits your budget and priorities. The Beemer starts at $7,000 more than what you pay for Chevy Bolt but it offers high-end equipment, plush interior and also, the trust of BMW. BMW i3 has almost the same efficiency number to that of Bolt but offers much less power than the latter.
You can easily bet that the Chevy Bolt is important to General Motors. With a price tag of $37,495, you get an all-electric vehicle with a driving range of 248 miles on a single battery charge. GM brought the car into shape in less than two years, preparing it to compete against the Tesla Model 3. The Bolt is believed to be more like an idea and GM believes the buyers would go for it as it represents an idea of mobility. The new Bolt is affordable, accessible, high-tech, and versatile.
