Power for the 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage comes from a 1.2L 3-cylinder engine that is capable of putting just 78 hp and 74 lb-ft of torque. The engine is unrefined and has a coarse sound note when revved or doing high speeds. The Mirage offers a rather clunky 5-speed manual, although the setup does attain decent fuel economy and the figures are even better for the models equipped with the CVT automatic gearbox.

The Mirage is the worst performer in terms of power and torque figure. In this comparison, Kia Rio and Honda Fit are close competitors with the former mated to a 6-speed automatic and the latter mated to a CVT gearbox. While the Yaris with the 6-speed manual is a bliss to drive and will definitely tilt the purists in its favor.
Acceleration
The 2019 Mitsubishi Mirage's engine is tuned towards delivering a better fuel economy and not for performance.
The reason why the Mirage is nothing but one hell of a slow car with 0-60 mph coming in a slow 11.3 seconds and a quarter-mile in 18.5 seconds. The Mirage takes its won sweet time to build pace and overtakes need to be carefully planned to avoid any unwanted situation.

Mirage is the slowest of all tailing the Yaris which does 0-60 mph in 10.2 seconds and comes third. The Rio’s faster 0-60 mph run let it complete the quarter-mile run first followed by the Fit which touches the finish line in 17.1 seconds closely followed by the Yaris and in the rear-view Mirage could be seen crossing the finish line last in 18.5 seconds.
Ride and Handling
The Mirage is one hell of a lightweight vehicle and thanks to its rather soft suspension the car loses its composure even over minor undulations. The ride is choppy for most of the part and handling doesn't inspire any confidence at all. The setup is a complete bore and is strictly for someone who wants a point A to point B car and nothing more than that.
Braking
The Mirage gets a front disc and rear drum brakes setup. The brake bite feels adequate for the road. As the car isn't capable of silly speed braking force is easy to modulate, and the feedback from the pedal is satisfactory.
Panic braking will result in the Mirage stopping from 70-0 mph in 177 feet. The figures are better compared to the peers and a part of it goes to the lower curb weight of the Mirage.

The Mirage is the best when it comes to braking and takes 177 feet to come from 70 mph to standstill which is better than the rivals. Even though it has the smallest brakes in comparison the car’s lightweight helps it to shed speed very quickly.
