The Japenese automakers such as Lexus, Infinity, and Acura with proven reliability and performance will surely have to fold up there sleeves.
What do we recommend?
Cadillac CT4-V promises something way above than what ATS at its peak couldn’t. Minimizing the shortcomings, Cadillac has packed the CT4-V with more standard features, upscale use of material, efficient powertrain and most of the typical must-haves. A mix of right ingredients has resulted in an athletic CT4-V which rises and shines bright. For the additional topping, an affordable price of $45,490 for RWD flips the coin in favor of the American automaker.
Cadillac has up the ante with the new addition to its V-series, CT4-V. The all-new CT4-V is powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 320 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels courtesy of a ten-speed automatic transmission. The engine features a unique three-step sliding camshaft that helps optimize performance at all speeds.
The output from the CT4-V mill is significantly less than the outgoing ATS-V, which makes 464 hp and 445 lb-ft. But that drop in power works in cohesion with the slashing of prices from the automaker, making CT4-V much more affordable than ATS-V. Also, the replacement of V6 in ATS-V with the new mill improves efficiency and reduces the overall weight ratio.

The near neighbors of the performance-oriented CT4-V fetch good results with Acura RLS and Infiniti q50 sport exhibiting 29 mpg combined. However, it will be difficult to match the above benchmark for the CT4-V considering its meaty powertrain.
Inside-out, every element of CT4 is designed to bring innovative technologies to the driver. Cadillac has drifted for good from its traditional design language which plagued the cabin of former ATS, being the weakest trait.
The CT4-V features a driver-oriented cockpit with front seats available with numerous adjustments and available heat ventilation, lumbar massage, and driver memory settings. The sportiness inside is depicted by the seat bolsters to keep you upright during thrilling maneuvers, The pendulum-finish aluminum center console decor and generous use of leather all-around adds a premium feel to the drive.
However, the rear feels cramped. The seats sit low and ideally could only accommodate two adults, thanks to the rear-wheel-drive which adds tunnel to eat the outright space. Overall, the interior design and the quality of materials makes for a lux sedan but remains unremarkable. That said, the CT4 will feature Cadillac’s cutting-edge technology with wisely placed and user-friendly controls.

The CT4-V has placed with an 8-inches diagonal HD color display with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility. The display is intuitive enough with a wide viewing angle. Cadillac offers multiple ways to interact with key features, including cloud-based natural voice recognition, steering wheel controls and rotary controller for a delightful experience.
Connectivity duties are facilitated by the standard one-touch Bluetooth along with internet connectivity to keep you updated. For audiophiles, CT4-V features an exclusive premium audio system and to keep the party-experience intact, wireless charging will take care of your device’s needs.
The cargo capacity of CT4-V reduces the utility and practicality on offer. With just 10.4 cu-ft of trunk space available, CT4-V can manage only a few grocery bags or some office bags. Also, the boot shape restricts flexible load placement and would need extra attention for cargo management.

In comparison, Acura RLX seem to be the most practical option available with 14.9 cu-ft of trunk volume. While Infiniti manages to bag the second spot in our practical luxury sedan list.
To each their own. Cadillac provides significant visual and feature differentiation to suit one’s needs across four CT4. the CT4-V features dark exterior accents and V-Series mesh grilles showcasing performance designed front fascia. The quad exhaust tips, unique rear spoiler design up the ante for the Cadillac and also helps to reduce rear lift while increasing grip for the rear tires. The bigger wheels, 18-inch to be precise make this formidable drive even more mighty.
The CT4-V carries a sharp and unique design that definitely feel demonish on the road. High-head turning quotient is enhanced by the playful DRL which vertically drips down to the air vents.

The all-new CT4-V is yet to be rated by the federal crash testing agencies for its crashworthiness. However, Cadillac sets the bars high with a strong built of CT4-V featuring a strong foundation. Also, CT4-V comes heavily equipped with safety and advance driver-assistance technology, totally on-par with the modern-day compact luxury sedans.
Acura RLX P-AWS in comparison here is priced acutely northwards, almost $9,000 above the CT4-V. The V-6 tuned powertrain of Acura lacks that grunt and instant acceleration that Cady offers. However, Acura RLX drives over a longer wheelbase than the CT4-V and offers a roomier cabin. The ride remains comfortable with all adult passengers in the Acura. The bigger trunk of RLX also translates into better practicality. That said, we believe CT4-V is a formidable performance drive with athleticism and agility promoting it.
Priced slightly ahead of CT4-V, Infinity Q50 is slightly bigger with more space to stretch inside. The passenger in the back seat of CT4-V might feel squishy but Q50’s manages to reduce that feeling. Also, longer wheelbase of Q50 furnishes a premium ride comfort but lacks the athleticism on offer with CT4-V. Superior Handling and performance of CT4-V is something that turns the table around for the Cadillac. It is a fair choice between utility and athleticism while comparing Infinity and Cadillac, this time around.
The Japenese premium IS is powered by a V-6 which is neither efficient nor powerful for its class. The Lexus’s rear feels cramped with even lower legroom than the CT4-V. Both the drives offer similar practicality and interior space. However, the all-new CT4-V flaunts a redesigned modern cabin with loaded technology at hand. Cadillac CT4-V will always turn out to be the first choice in comparison to the Lexus here.
The all-new Cadillac CT4-V highlights the performance credentials of the automaker. A clear-cut aim of blending spirited driving with premium luxury has resulted in an expansion of the V-series family. The all-new CT4-V puzzle has been resolved with an aggressive slashing of prices from the automaker. With it, one gets a sharp style quotient powered by the V-series performance technologies. Personalization options available with the new CT4-V adds to the appeal. To be precise, CT4-V is a perfect blend of spirited performance with plush luxury at an affordable price.
