The 2021 Acura TLX starts at an MSRP of $37,500 for the Standard 2.0T trim with FWD - an increase of $1,300 over the 2020 Acura TLX and comprises 4 configurations: Standard, Technology Package (+$4,000), A-Spec Package (+$2,750), and Advance Package (+$4,800). The packages can be combined to create a unique TLX the most popular being the Technology package and A-Spec package. 

Acura's torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system is available on all trims for an additional $2,000. Exterior options include a $2,982 black-wheel package offering 19-inch Glint black alloy wheels. Premium exterior colors such as Platinum White Pearl, Majestic Black Pearl, and Performance Red Pearl add another $500 to the final bill, and there are accessories available too. 

For $41,500, the 2021 Acura TLX with the Technology package is the trim to get. This package adds new 19-inch wheels, a 3D navigation system, keyless entry, 7-inch MID display. It also adds on a few advanced driver-assist systems like blind spot information system, collision mitigation system with advanced pedestrian detection, rear-cross traffic monitor, and a few more as standard.

The 2021 Acura TLX is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged I4 engine producing 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque with a front-wheel-drive configuration as standard. The AWD is available as a $2,000 option, borrowed from the 2021 Acura RDX. Both FWD and AWD models are paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift with paddle shifters on both versions. There is also the 2021 TLX Type S, priced in the low $50,000s, which comes with 355hp 3.0L V6 Turbo.

The 2021 Acura TLX goes from 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds and sets a quarter-mile time of 14.5 seconds - which is 0.3 seconds slower than the 2021 Accord Touring, 0.4 seconds behind the BMW 3-series, and 0.5 seconds behind the Audi A4. The AWD version does the 0-60 sprint in 7.0 seconds and quarter-mile in 15.4 seconds. The 2021 Acura TLX comes with a top speed of 158 mph.

The 2021 Acura TLX gets an EPA-rated fuel economy rating of 22 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined, which is lesser than the mpg figures of the Audi A4 and the BMW 3-series. 

Upgrading to the super-handling all-wheel-drive system will drop the EPA fuel economy rating by 1 mpg i.e. 21/29/24 mpg for city/highway/combined, respectively. Irrespective of the drivetrain, the 2021 Acura TLX comes with a fuel capacity of 15.8 gallons.

The 2021 Acura TLX interior has a capacity of 5 occupants. It features 12-way power-adjustable sport front seats with leatherette upholstery in black with two color options. There is also the option of espresso brown perforated Milano leather which will add the technology package ($4,000) and Red perforated leather interior with ultra-suede inserts, which will add technology package and A-spec package ($2,750).

The interior also features open-pore wood and aluminum interior trim which depending on the package and interior color choice gets added to the car. The 2021 Acura TLX comes with a cargo capacity of 13.5 cu.ft. and can be expanded by folding the rear seats down. However, the midsize sedan does come with more cargo space than the Audi A4 and BMW 3 series, but is lesser than the Honda Accord. 

The 2021 Acura TLX comes with a 10.2’’ display above the dash replacing the previous dual 8’’ and 7’’ touchscreen infotainment display powered by an upgraded AcuraLink infotainment software. The infotainment system is now controlled by a trackpad along with physical buttons and steering mounted controls. The 2021 Acura TLX also comes standard with smartphone integration technologies of Android Auto and Apple Car Play. 

The sedan also gets the features of in-car Wi-Fi, voice recognition, Siri Eyes free, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a range of available cloud-based services like emergency roadside assistance, remote ignition, remote lock and unlock, vehicle tracking, and so on. The 2021 Acura TLX sports a bolder and more upright diamond pentagon grille flanked by new Jewel Eye LED headlights with four LED elements, and bright-white "Chicane" LED daytime running lights. The 2021 TLX's Exterior color pallet includes a similar set which includes Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, and Fathom Blue Pears including a new color option Phantom Violet Pearl color exclusive to the Technology pack (MSRP - $41,500).

The new TLX is also wider by 2.2 inches than the previous model and sits 0.2 inches lower than it. The front track width has also swelled by 1.2 inches in the front and 1.5 inches on the rear.
