Overall Rating
Cadillac CT4 came as a fresh breeze in 2020 replacing the Caddy ATS. Since it’s still crisp in our minds, the 2021 Cadillac CT4 is not going to bomb us with significant changes. This compact luxury sedan communicates American confidence. It carries the right amount of urbanity, snazziness, and elegance while offering enough convenience features as an entry-level luxury car.
The 2021 Cadillac CT4 comes in three trims - Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport with prices starting at an MSRP of $33,395. The power comes from a 2.0L turbocharged engine making 237 hp or a 2.7L turbocharged engine making 310 hp, the same 2.7L engine is also found in the Cadillac CT4-V making 325 hp. There is also the upcoming CT4-V Blackwing which makes 472 hp.
The interior of the Cadillac CT4 comes with adequate luxury with leatherette/leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, and automatic climate control. For 2021 The CT4 sees the addition of Diamond Sky Special Edition, 12.0-inch digital cluster, and driver-assist features of automated emergency braking and pedestrian detection as standard features. The CT4 competes directly with the Mercedes-Benz C300, Audi A4, and Genesis G70.
If you get Luxury trim you’ll have to splurge on additional packages. It is either Premium luxury trim or V series. Premium Luxury trim provides more driver-assist features and leather seating than the basic luxury trim. If you want performance with luxury then the V series gives you a perfect blend of both. It is athletic and plush.

The 2021 Cadillac CT4 has not yet been crash-tested by the NHTSA, nor has it been crash-tested by the IIHS. The 2020 model has also not been crash-tested by either of the organizations. Hence we cannot comment on its safety ratings. but, Cadillac has included many safety features as part of the standard equipment for the 2021 CT4.
The safety features include forward collision alert, rear-view camera, tire pressure monitoring system, 8 airbags, and the new standard features of automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. On the Premium Luxury and Sport Trims additional driver aid packages are available which include adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning lane keep assist, and a few more.
The 2021 Mercedes-Benz C300 comes with more power and better performance than the Cadillac CT4. The interior space is also more in the rear row and offers more trunk space as well. The biggest difference is the price, where the Mercedes-Benz C300 costs $8,200 more than the CT4 making the CT4 the better option of the two.
The Audi A4 comes with lesser power and less performance but better mpg numbers. Like the Merc, it comes with more space in the back row with more trunk space as well, and is also priced at a much higher rate than the CT4, specifically $5,700 more than the 2021 CT4, making the CT4 the winner of this battle.
The Genesis G70 makes more power but offers lesser performance and fuel economy numbers than the Cadillac. The G70 also offers marginally more interior space but lesser trunk room than the CT4. However, it is just $2,600 more than the Cadillac, making the G70 a good option.
The 2021 Cadillac CT4 comes with good sharp looks, good performance, comfort, and luxury features along with a lot of optional extras. However, if you are looking for a sedan with more power, better performance, and classier interiors with more space, the Mercedes-Benz C300 is the one to get, but you will need the extras $8,200 as well.
